The Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of
\nBulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), Senyo Hosi, has bemoaned the protracted
\nchieftaincy dispute in Mafi State which he said had stalled development in the
\narea.<\/p>\n

Addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of
\nMafi at the 2019 Mafi Hogbetsotso, Mr. Hosi said the chiefs and people of the
\narea should not look on unconcerned at the deplorable state of development as a
\nresult of a 22-year-old chieftaincy dispute.<\/p>\n

\u201cWake up sleeping lion, wake up Mafi! It is
\ntime to bury your ego; it is time to let go, for the world is not waiting for
\nyou. It is time to unite and develop your people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the disputes in the Mafi area had
\nbecome an economic oppressor to the prospects of the youth and children of
\nMafi.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis dispute must not be allowed to stand. No
\nclan or person is bigger than the future of our children and the youth of
\ntoday. Time is of essence and the world is not waiting for Mafi. We cannot
\ncontinue to allow such disputes to fester after 22 years of stagnation,\u201d he
\nstressed.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hosi, therefore, called on the feuding
\nfactions to regard themselves as \u201cbrothers and sisters from one stock\u201d and find
\nan amicable solution to the dispute without any further delay.<\/p>\n

\u201cMafi is a state which has graced Ghana with
\nmany illustrious sons like Dan Okudzeto (a true trailblazer who set up Ghana\u2019s
\nfirst indigenous Oil Marketing Company), Dr. Alphonse Dorcoo (Former MD of Tema
\nOil Refinery), Hon. Joe Gidisu \u2013 former Minister for Roads and Highways and
\nmany others. It is necessary we restore the honour of Mafi else very soon, most
\nof Mafi\u2019s people will become citizens of other regions,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n

The durbar, which was on the theme: \u201cRepositioning
\nMafi for unity and development\u201d, was graced by a number of dignitaries
\nincluding the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, who was the guest
