{"id":763497,"date":"2019-12-12T11:00:23","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T11:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/12\/12\/ghanas-future-bright-under-akufo-addo-alan\/"},"modified":"2019-12-12T11:00:23","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T11:00:23","slug":"ghanas-future-bright-under-akufo-addo-alan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/12\/12\/ghanas-future-bright-under-akufo-addo-alan\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana&#8217;s Future Bright Under Akufo-Addo-Alan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nMinister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has assured Ghanaians<br \/>\nthat the future prospects of the country under the Akufo-Addo government are<br \/>\nbright.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nhas, therefore, urged the public to continue to believe in the Akufo-Addo<br \/>\nvision, especially the Ghana beyond Aid agenda being pursued by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking<br \/>\nat this year\u2019s Liberty Lecture Series organised by the Danquah Institute (DI)<br \/>\non the topic: \u201cIndustrializing Ghana Beyond Aid for An<br \/>\nIntegrated Africa,\u201d Mr. Kyerematen said the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda which is<br \/>\nbeing driven by industrialization would create sustainable jobs.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nstated that the government had developed a 10-point industrial transformation<br \/>\nagenda that would drive the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll<br \/>\nthe top 10 countries in the world are countries whose economies are driven by<br \/>\nindustrialization, and that is why the government\u2019s vision which is also driven<br \/>\nby industrialization puts Ghana in the right footing towards a prosperous<br \/>\nfuture,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\ngave a trajectory of Ghana\u2019s industrialization history starting from colonial<br \/>\ndays, adding that the current paradigm of industrialization, which is driven by<br \/>\nthe private sector with support from public institutions, is the best way to<br \/>\ngo.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nindicated that the Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah industrialization drive could not<br \/>\nbe sustained because it depended heavily on state capital. <\/p>\n<p>According<br \/>\nto the minister, any development policy that depends solely on state capital is<br \/>\nbound to fail with a change in leadership. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat<br \/>\nis why the current industrialization drive policy is the best way to go. When<br \/>\nthe private person leads development, even the change of government does not<br \/>\naffect the economic growth of a country,\u201d he indicated.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nstated that what is required of a government in an economy whose development is<br \/>\ndriven by the private sector is the political will and the commitment to let<br \/>\nthe private business thrive, adding that is exactly the same way this<br \/>\ngovernment is doing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitical<br \/>\nwill and commitment start with articulation of a vision and providing resources<br \/>\nfor the vision and that is what the Ghana Beyond Aid is doing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kyerematen added that though the One District, One Factory policy, which is at the core of the industrialization drive to push the Ghana Beyond Aid is private sector led, the country would provide support for other struggling state institutions to thrive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Nana Kwasi<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen The Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has assured Ghanaians that the future prospects of the country under the Akufo-Addo government are bright.
