{"id":762208,"date":"2019-12-10T18:33:28","date_gmt":"2019-12-10T18:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/12\/10\/yendi-strategic-for-new-energy-policy-rollout-npa\/"},"modified":"2019-12-10T18:33:28","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T18:33:28","slug":"yendi-strategic-for-new-energy-policy-rollout-npa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/12\/10\/yendi-strategic-for-new-energy-policy-rollout-npa\/","title":{"rendered":"Yendi Strategic For New Energy Policy Rollout &#8211; NPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p> <strong>Hassan Tampuli (left) <\/strong>\u2013 <strong>NPA Boss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, NPA, Hassan Tampuli, says Yendi, an ancient commercial town in the northern part of Ghana, will play a critical role as part of the Authority\u2019s plans to rollout a planned program for the Cylinder Recirculation Model. <\/p>\n<p>As part of the overall rollout, the NPA has identified specific areas for the pilot, including towns such Kwabibirim, Obuasi and Yendi. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Tampuli was at the Gbewaa Palace in the company of senior executives from the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs) to briefed Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, about the Authority\u2019s plans for pilot implementation and also seek his blessings and support.<\/p>\n<p>Those in the team included Gabriel Kumi, Vice Chairman of the LPG Marketing Association, and Kwaku Agyeman Duah, who heads the Association of Oil Marketing Companies. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters during a meeting with the overlord of Dagbon Ya-Na, Mr. Tampuli said Yendi is strategically placed to undertake such an exercise.<\/p>\n<p>That, he said, was because it makes it easier for operators of LPG products to efficiently and effectively distribute gas products to consumers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c We selected Yendi for a very good reason,\u201d he  said, adding that \u201cbecause it (Yendi) is the capital of the eastern corridor of the northern region, and it is the gateway to Kushegu municipality, Karaga district, Chereponi, Saboba, Zabzugu Tatale, Bimbilla, Wulensi, Kpandai and even to some extent Salaga district.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-  data-src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hassan-tampuli.jpg\" class=\"wp-image-255167 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%201%201'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/hassan-tampuli.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-255167 lazy\" data- data-\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Already, according to Mr. Tampuli, leading beverage companies in the country have often used Yendi as the distribution outlet for their products to the newly established Savanna region, and the NPA is therefore taking a lesson from the existing structure. <\/p>\n<p>On his part, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II advised the NPA to continue with its engagement program, so as to implement a policy that will be acceptable to majority of LPG consumers. <\/p>\n<p>He said petroleum related accidents that have caused human lives and properties ought to be allowed to continue, and, therefore reminded the NPA of its presonsibilities of enforcing safety standards in the downstream sector. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. Tampuli and his team later visited the Mion Lana Alhaji Mahamadu Abdulai II at  his palace in the Mion district.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hassan Tampuli (left) \u2013 NPA Boss Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, NPA, Hassan Tampuli, says Yendi, an ancient commercial town in the northern part of Ghana, will play a critical role as part of the Authority\u2019s plans to rollout a planned program for the Cylinder Recirculation Model.
