Accra, Dec. 4, GNA \u2013 Mr. Uwe Goldstein \u2013 the
\nCommercial Director of the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation
\n(IWF) on Wednesday, paid a courtesy call on Professor Peter Twumasi \u2013 Director
\nGeneral of the National Sport Authority (NSA).<\/span><\/p>\n

The visit was aimed at briefing the Director
\nGeneral about efforts to lay a foundation for the introduction of the sport in
\nGhana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Goldstein also doubles as the
\nAdministration Commission Member – Africa Federation.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Goldstein said though the sport was a
\nnew one and yet to attain an Olympic status, there were prospects that it would
\nbe considered at the 2024 Olympic Games in France.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said Ghana had been given recognition by
\nthe IWWF and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to introduce and
\npractice the sport, hence the need to give them the necessary support to grow
\nin Ghana.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Mr. Goldstein the international
\nfederation was ready to provide equipment for the establishment of the sport in Ghana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof.\u00a0
\nTwumasi commended Mr. Godstein for his initiative adding that, his
\noutfit would provide the necessary support for the introduction of the sport in
\nGhana.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you need to do now is to ensure that
\nyou go through the necessary processes to formalise the Association in Ghana.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou must make sure that you go through the
\nnecessary registration process at the Registrar-General Department and with the
\nNSA as well, to be given full recognition.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter these processes your sport would be
\nconsidered in annual plans and budgetary considerations, which would be
\npresented to the Minister of Youth and Sports and parliament,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Twumasi urged the interim leadership
\nof the\u00a0 Waterski and Wakeboard Association of\u00a0<\/span>Ghana\u00a0<\/span>to work hard to make the dream
\na reality.<\/span><\/p>\n
