Nana Owusu Gyan II<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nana Owusu Gyan II, Chief of Cherehin in the Kintampo South District of the newly created Bono East Region, has appealed passionately to the Ministry of Roads and Transport to help reconstruct a ramshackle bridge linking the area to other parts of the region. <\/p>\n

According to the traditional leader, the
\nunfortunate state of the bridge has now become a deathtrap for his people, especially
\nschoolchildren and farmers, who use the bridge. He, therefore, wants the
\nproblem to be fixed before it compounds.<\/p>\n

Nana Gyan made the appeal through DAILY
\nGUIDE <\/em><\/strong>during their annual Munufie YamFestival held over the
\nweekend.<\/p>\n

He said on several occasions the youth tried to
\ndo some repairs on the bridge but it had reached a point they could no longer
\nfix the difficult part unless the government employed the service of
\nexperienced engineers.<\/p>\n

Nana Gyan commended the government for its
\nsupport to the Kintampo South District in terms of education, health, roads,
\namong others. In spite of that, he said still much had to be done. <\/p>\n

The chief revealed that Cherehin and its
\nsurrounding communities are predominantly farmers who largely depend on the 7-kilometre
\nroad hence the need for urgent attention.<\/p>\n

He said President Akufo-Addo\u2019s Free Senior High
\nSchool policy had given thousands of Junior High School graduates the
\nopportunity to enjoy second cycle education for free.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, entreated Ghanaians, especially
\npoliticians (opposition groups), educationists and other social groups to look
\nout for ways to sustain the policy and desist from concentrating on its
\nweakness. <\/p>\n
