{"id":757370,"date":"2019-12-03T18:05:14","date_gmt":"2019-12-03T18:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/12\/03\/aicc-hosts-2019-ghana-property-awards\/"},"modified":"2019-12-03T18:05:14","modified_gmt":"2019-12-03T18:05:14","slug":"aicc-hosts-2019-ghana-property-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/12\/03\/aicc-hosts-2019-ghana-property-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"AICC hosts 2019 Ghana Property Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"461\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Ghana-property-awards-696x461.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Ghana property awards\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The<br \/>\nAccra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Friday November 29, 2019 hosted industry players in Ghana\u2019s<br \/>\nreal estate, property and construction sector for the 12<sup>th<\/sup> edition<br \/>\nof the Ghana Property Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nannual event organized by the Property Express Group Limited in collaboration<br \/>\nwith the Ministry of Works and Housing seeks to celebrate industry<br \/>\nplayers for their outstanding contribution to the sector.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\n2019 edition of the annual Ghana Property Awards was a glittering ceremony<br \/>\nunder the theme, \u201cStrengthening the Bedrock of Ghana through Green<br \/>\nDevelopment\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nevent chaired by the President for GREDA who doubles as the CEO of PS Global<br \/>\nLimited, Mr. Patrick Ebo Bonful welcomed CEOs and management of real estate<br \/>\ncompanies, financial institutions, construction companies and individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking<br \/>\nat the event, he charged all and sundry to have a total change in our<br \/>\nsocioeconomic lifestyles and also rely on locally produced building materials<br \/>\nwhich have proven to be more durable. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere should be a total change in our socioeconomic lifestyles if we are to make any in-roads in the area of GD (Green Development),\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.<br \/>\nBonful also mentioned that GREDA has submitted a proposal to the Government of<br \/>\nGhana to spearhead the provision of mass affordable housing in the country. He<br \/>\nurged that many households should be encouraged to use solar energy and<br \/>\nreducing taxes of imported solar systems can do this. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile,<br \/>\nIrene Agyenkwa, the Director of Ghana Property Awards pointed out that<br \/>\nSustainability is key in the Real Estate Industry and the solution to the thin<br \/>\nline between green development and profitability lies in between with a focus<br \/>\non green solutions, effectiveness, quality, durability and pricing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0She further stated that the Ghana Property<br \/>\nAwards made a proposal that individuals and real estate developers should be<br \/>\ngiven the permission to trade the excess solar energy they own. <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cSolar energy should not be just seen as a means of saving money on energy bills, but with the right framework, it can generate, store and trade energy, saving and earning income, for home owners and investors alike\u201d she added. <\/p>\n<p>Representative<br \/>\nof the special guest of honor, Hon.
