Obofour <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>THE FOUNDER of Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), Francis Antwi, aka Rev.<br \/>\nObofour, claims his church members did not assault officials of the Tema West<br \/>\nMunicipal Assembly (TWMA).<\/p>\n<p>He said it was rather the assembly that sent about 23 heavily-built<br \/>\nmen to attack his members.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to last Wednesday\u2019s fracas that ensued on the premises of<br \/>\nhis church in Tema, Rev. Obofour called the TWMA official \u201cliars\u201d and said they<br \/>\nattacked three of his security men on the church premises without any<br \/>\njustification.<\/p>\n<p>He said in a 28-minute 17-second video on his <em>YouTube<\/em> channel that the allegations levelled against his church<br \/>\nworkers by the assembly were fabricated to cover their bad deeds at his church.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am stating on authority that no well-built men assaulted anyone<br \/>\nat my church. The person who said well-built men assaulted someone at my church<br \/>\nis a liar, and those who do not understand can send me anywhere they want,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want the government to know that we did not take the law into our<br \/>\nhands but they rather assaulted three security men at the church,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The APC founder said officials of the assembly as well as the Tema<br \/>\nDevelopment Corporation (TDC) were aware of the construction of the church and<br \/>\nthe officials had been inspecting progress of work from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government appointees and assembly officials often visit us<br \/>\nhere since we started building the church and they cannot say they are unaware,\u201d<br \/>\nhe pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Obofour threatened to expose the assembly that gave him the<br \/>\ngo-ahead and is now turning around to claim he is doing it illegally, saying, \u201cThe<br \/>\nbuilding did not just appear at the place. If they push me, I will talk. If<br \/>\nthey want us to talk, we\u2019ll talk. Push me and I will speak to the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it is a new appointee who has taken office and wants to<br \/>\nintroduce himself or herself to me, then it is a different thing all together,<br \/>\nbut if it is the same people who are in those offices then they cannot say they<br \/>\ndo not know anything about the construction of the church because about eight<br \/>\npeople from both TDC and the assembly are aware of the construction of the<br \/>\nchurch,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will talk when you push me. Anyone who has collected money in<br \/>\nconnection with the construction of the building will have to vomit it when we<br \/>\nget to the court,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Obofour denied receiving any subpoenas from the assembly in<br \/>\nconnection with the construction of the church building, pointing out that \u201cit<br \/>\nis not true if the assembly officials said they brought any letter to the<br \/>\nchurch. We challenge them to mention the person who received the letters and<br \/>\nwhen they brought the letters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He seized the opportunity to introduce three men whom he alleged<br \/>\nwere severely assaulted by the TWMA taskforce without any provocation.<\/p>\n<p>On the so-called blood stains in the video, he stated that nobody<br \/>\nbled during the commotion. Rather, he said the paint the taskforce personnel<br \/>\nwanted to use to write on the building poured on the TWMA officials and some of<br \/>\nhis church members during the struggle.<\/p>\n<p>Last Monday, there was news that Adwoa Amoako, Municipal Chief<br \/>\nExecutive (MCE) of Tema West Assembly, escaped being physically attacked by<br \/>\nsome agitated members of APC.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred near Tema Community 18 Roundabout at about 11:00am after the MCE and her officers had visited the premises of the church to inspect building permits and also collect property rates. <\/p>\n<p> <strong>From Vincent Kubi, Tema<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Francis Antwi, aka Rev.
