{"id":754750,"date":"2019-11-29T11:44:35","date_gmt":"2019-11-29T11:44:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/11\/29\/npp-will-push-ndc-to-stop-insults-with-sharp-teeth\/"},"modified":"2019-11-29T11:44:35","modified_gmt":"2019-11-29T11:44:35","slug":"npp-will-push-ndc-to-stop-insults-with-sharp-teeth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/11\/29\/npp-will-push-ndc-to-stop-insults-with-sharp-teeth\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP Will Push NDC To Stop Insults With Sharp Teeth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (right) and Former President John<\/strong> <strong>Mahama<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An Economic Advisor to the Vice-President, Dr.<br \/>\nGideon Boako, has revealed the reasons behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia\u2019s persistent<br \/>\ntaunting of former President John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic<br \/>\nCongress (NDC).<\/p>\n<p>He said the Vice-President wanted to force the<br \/>\nopposition NDC to redirect its politics of insults, mudslinging and propaganda to<br \/>\na healthier discourse that would solve the bread and butter issues and lead to accelerated<br \/>\ndevelopment of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (NDC members) don\u2019t understand the<br \/>\npsychology of Bawumia; if they do, they will appreciate the basis of the legacy<br \/>\nchallenge he has thrown to Mahama,\u201d Dr. Boako said on Kasapa FM yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that political observers were<br \/>\nseeing a change in the political discourse to development-based issues and the Vice-President<br \/>\nwould continue to draw the\u00a0 attention of<br \/>\nthe NDC members to the fact that they had to come out and defend their records<br \/>\nwhen they were in government and prove to them that negative propaganda does<br \/>\nnot help in nation-building.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you give them the playing field in the<br \/>\ngutters they will beat you, but approaching 2020, we want to change the cycle<br \/>\nof campaign and push them to defend their records,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Dr. Bawumia threw a challenge to<br \/>\nformer President Mahama to show how he was able to contribute to the<br \/>\ndevelopment of the northern regions where they both come from, and concluded<br \/>\nthat he wasted the opportunity given him.<\/p>\n<p>The NDC members got incensed and immediately<br \/>\nlisted a number of projects they claimed Mr. Mahama brought to the people of<br \/>\nthe area, amid insults in their presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Boako said their posture<br \/>\namply suggested that \u201cif you put them to strict proof they would be found<br \/>\nwanting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the main opposition NDC members were<br \/>\nmissing the point about this challenge because they had taken Dr. Bawumia for<br \/>\ngranted and it would worry them.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bawumia\u2019s spokesperson argued that the<br \/>\nunpopular Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) should have been a<br \/>\nbig legacy to them, but was a wasted opportunity for northern development under<br \/>\nformer President Mahama.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2026They are ashamed to name it because of how<br \/>\nbadly it was handled under their regime,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>For him, the skewed and one-sided campaign is<br \/>\nover in the run-up to the 2020 elections, asking the NDC to fall in line and<br \/>\ndefend its legacies.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (right) and Former President John Mahama An Economic Advisor to the Vice-President, Dr. Gideon Boako, has revealed the reasons behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia\u2019s persistent taunting of former President John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC).
