{"id":754096,"date":"2019-11-28T14:10:06","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T14:10:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/11\/28\/ellembelle-assembly-supports-pwds\/"},"modified":"2019-11-28T14:10:06","modified_gmt":"2019-11-28T14:10:06","slug":"ellembelle-assembly-supports-pwds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/11\/28\/ellembelle-assembly-supports-pwds\/","title":{"rendered":"Ellembelle Assembly Supports PWDs &#8211;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Kwasi Bonzoh (left) presenting the items to George Muzuo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nEllembelle District Assembly in the Western Region has supported 185 people<br \/>\nwith disabilities (PWDs) with tools and other pieces of equipment to make them<br \/>\nmore self-sufficient and improve their living standards.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nitems valued at about GH\u00a280,000 \u00a0included<br \/>\nmachines for sewing, deep freezers, ice chests, shoe binding machines, \u2018fufu\u2019<br \/>\npounding machines and white canes.<\/p>\n<p>Some<br \/>\nof them also received funds to support their livelihood programmes while others<br \/>\nwere also registered into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nDistrict Chief Executive (DCE), Kwasi Bonzoh, said the government was<br \/>\ndetermined to help alleviate poverty among people with disabilities and make<br \/>\nlife bearable for them. <\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nbemoaned the fact that many PWDs were confronted with several challenges like<br \/>\ndiscrimination and lack of access to quality healthcare and public services. <\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nalso urged those who are into income-generating activities to use the monies<br \/>\ngiven to them judiciously in order to expand their businesses and create employment<br \/>\nopportunities for others.<\/p>\n<p>George Muzou, President of PWDs in Ellembelle, expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for the continued support offered PWDs.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>From Emmanuel Opoku, Nkroful<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kwasi Bonzoh (left) presenting the items to George Muzuo The Ellembelle District Assembly in the Western Region has supported 185 people with disabilities (PWDs) with tools and other pieces of equipment to make them more self-sufficient and improve their living standards.
