Thairu Ndungu <\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

CONSOLIDATED BANK of Ghana
\n(CBG) has noted that it is committed to facilitating national development through
\nsupporting small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana\u2019s export sector.<\/p>\n

Deputy Managing Director of CBG,
\nThairu Ndungu, who disclosed this at an exporters\u2019 forum organised in Accra
\nrecently, said SMEs had to take advantage of opportunities in the exports of goods and services since it
\ncontributed more than 35% of Ghana\u2019s GDP. <\/p>\n

\u201cExports contribute more than 35% of our GDP and
\nit is very critical to the stability of the Ghana Cedi, hence the urge to
\nspearhead the discussion on how to develop initiatives and activities that
\noffer collaborative support and partnership with exporters in Ghana,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

The export forum, which
\nbrought together various exporters, export facilitation institutions and stakeholders
\nto explore opportunities in international trade, saw representatives from the Ministry of Trade and
\nIndustry, Ghana Investment
\nPromotion Centre (GIPC),
\nFederation of Association of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE), Ghana Assorted Food
\nStuff Exporters Association (GAFEA), Ghana Root Crops and Tubers Exporters
\nUnion (GROCTEU), Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association (VEPEAG), Sea-
\nFreight Pineapple Exporters of Ghana (SPEG) among others.<\/p>\n

According to Mr.
\nNdungu, the forum seeks to foster
\nrelations\u00a0and cooperation between CBG and exporters in Ghana.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy engaging key stakeholders through this
\nForum, CBG pledges its support to our exporting customers, as you proudly
\nshowcase \u2018Made in Ghana\u2019 to the rest of the world. We promise to create a
\nstrong partnership that will not only benefit both of us but also the entire
\neconomy. It is my humble believe that this partnership will instrumentally
\npromote national development and the agenda of \u2018Ghana Beyond Aid\u2019,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

On his part, board chairman of
\nCBG, Nana Abra-Appiah, assured
\nthe exporters of CBG\u2019s commitment to provide seamless management of funds. \u201cAt CBG, we are ready to serve you

Earlier, Director of Projects
\nGhana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Alexander Dadzawa, was full of
\nadmiration for CBG for meeting exporters to address their cash needs with
\ntailor-made products.<\/p>\n
