GUINNESS GHANA Breweries has declared dividend
\nto its shareholders at the company\u2019s 47th<\/sup> Annual General Meeting in
\nKumasi. <\/p>\n

The financial year under review delivered nine
\nmillion Ghana Cedis in dividends, which translated into a dividend payout of GH\u00a20.0293
\nper share.<\/p>\n

This is the second time in a row Guinness Ghana
\nis paying dividends to shareholders after 6 six years.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Board Chairman of Guinness Ghana, Dr. Felix
\nAddo, said the company had another positive performance. <\/p>\n

\u201cBottom line growth was challenged by the
\nsignificant Ghana Cedi devaluation, VAT regulation change which increased our
\nentire cost base by 5% and broader commodity inflation. However, in the next
\nfinancial year, we hope to do even better. We have the right people and a clear
\nstrategy to deliver another impactful year,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

The board chairman was proud of the gain the
\ncompany has made with local raw material sourcing which has seen Guinness Ghana
\nincrease its local raw materials usage from 12% in 2012 to 55% in 2019. He
\nrevealed that a 2019 study conducted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science
\nand Technology (KNUST) into the company\u2019s socioeconomic impact across the
\ncountry showed that the company is working directly with 30,000 farmers, and
\nwas impacting over 200,000 livelihoods particularly within the communities in
\nwhich it sources local raw materials.<\/p>\n

He added that beneficiary communities where
\nGuinness Ghana sources its local raw materials according to the study have seen
\nsignificant improvements in their livelihoods in areas such as investments in
\nchildren\u2019s education, housing, water, sanitation, healthcare and
\nnutrition.This, coupled with its shareholder value creation, positions Guinness
\nGhana on a sustainable growth trajectory.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
