font-size: 11pt;\">By Priscilla Obour\/ Dominic Antwi Agyei, GNA<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 11pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Kumasi, Nov. 18, GNA \u2013 A Kumasi Circuit<br \/>\nCourt has remanded a 37 year old steel bender for allegedly defiling a 12 year<br \/>\nold girl, on three separate occasions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Emmanuel Addae, the accused, pleaded not<br \/>\nguilty and would reappear before the Court presided over by Miss Comfort<br \/>\nTasiame, on November 27, 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Mercy<br \/>\nQuaye, told the Court that the complainant, Mary Osei, is unemployed and<br \/>\ngrandmother to the victim who resides at Kwadaso Estate, Kumasi, whiles the<br \/>\naccused, a friend to the complainant\u2019s family, also resides at Patasi, Kumasi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said on 31st October, 2019, the victim<br \/>\nreturned from school and complained of severe pains in her private part.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The Prosecution said upon interrogation by<br \/>\nthe grandmother, the victim disclosed that the accused person defiled her on<br \/>\nthree separate occasions in the month of October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said two of these incidents took place<br \/>\nin the grandmother\u2019s room on the- 20th and 24th and that on those occasions the<br \/>\naccused came to the house when she was alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Chief Inspector Quaye said on 29th October,<br \/>\n2019 the accused person again lured the victim to where he (accused) lives and<br \/>\nhad another bout of sexual intercourse with her on a bare floor in a corridor,<br \/>\nwhen there was no one in that house.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said the complainant then reported the<br \/>\nincident to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at the<br \/>\nSuntreso Police Station in Kumasi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The Prosecution said the complainant was<br \/>\nissued a medical report form to send the victim to any government hospital for<br \/>\nexamination and treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said the complainant returned with the<br \/>\nmedical report form duly endorsed by a medical officer at Suntreso Government<br \/>\nHospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said the accused was later arrested and<br \/>\ndetained to help in investigations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Police Chief Inspector Quaye said accused<br \/>\nwas subsequently charged and brought before the Court.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">GNA<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Priscilla Obour\/ Dominic Antwi Agyei, GNA\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Kumasi, Nov. 18, GNA \u2013 A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded a 37 year old steel bender for allegedly defiling a 12 year old girl, on three separate occasions.
