The
\nelders and people of New Koforidua in the Ashanti Region have sworn in Nana Yaw
\nSarpong I as the new chief of the town.<\/p>\n

The new
\ntraditional ruler, a police Corporal at the Regional Head Quarters succeeds his
\nlate father, Nana Agyekum Sarpong I.<\/p>\n

And in a
\ncolourful swearing in ceremony\u00a0at the Appianyinasehene Palace recently,
\nthe newly-sworn chief who owes allegiance to Nana\u00a0Kwanin Kwanfo II,
\nAppianyinasehene, promised to make education and farming his priority in the
\narea.<\/p>\n

In his
\nacceptance speech, he said \u201cI thank the elders and everyone gathered here
\nfor the confidence reposed in me to lead our great\u00a0town. I will not
\nhesitate to consult the elders of our town regarding decisions geared towards
\nthe socioeconomic development of our town.<\/p>\n

\u201cI,
\ntogether with my subjects, will go the extra mile to improve upon education,
\nfarming and other developmental projects in the area. And in ensuring\u00a0that
\nthose two objectives are achieved under my reign, l will seek for sponsorship
\nfrom corporate Ghana to push education, farming and other developmental
\nprojects to a higher level.\u201d<\/p>\n

The
\nAppianyinasehene advised the young chief to esteem discipline in the discharge
\nof his duties as well as consult members that constitutes his leadership
