A
\n50-year-old Jamaican, identified only as Anthony, is
\ncurrently spending time in Akuse police cells in the Lower Manya Krobo
\nMunicipality of the Eastern Region after he allegedly defiled three girls.<\/p>\n
The
\nsuspect, popularly known as Rasta, was grabbed last week and had since been
\nremanded in police custody by an Odumase-Krobo Circuit Court to reappear on
\nThursday, November 14, 2019.<\/p>\n
Rasta
\nwas arrested when one of the victims fell ill and started discharging fluids
\nfrom her private part.<\/p>\n
He
\nreportedly defiled the girls whose ages are 11, 14 and 15 respectively when
\nthey went to his house to pluck guava on different occasions.<\/p>\n
It
\nwas the unit committee chairman for the Okwenya Electoral Area who reported the
\nincident to the police after Rasta threatened one of the victims with death if
\nshe told anyone about her sexual encounter with him.<\/p>\n
According
\nto the unit committee chairman, further investigations conducted revealed that
\nother minors in the community had similarly been defiled by the suspect.<\/p>\n
Further
\nchecks indicated that the suspect, who has lived in the community since 2005,
\nhad taken advantage to lure school girls who frequent his house to pluck guava,
\nand had sex with them.<\/p>\n
Police<\/strong><\/p>\nThe
\nAkuse Police Commander, ASP Winfred Asare Nyarko, who confirmed the incident,
\ntold journalists that Rasta initially vehemently denied defiling the three
\ngirls but later admitted having sex with a 14-year-old girl who is not one of
\nthe three girls he was arrested for allegedly defiling.<\/p>\n
According to ASP Nyarko, a medical report had confirmed that Rasta defiled the three victims and added that the police were searching for the girl Rasta admitted having sex with to aid in the investigations.<\/p>\n
