Accra, Nov 8, GNA –
\nThe Ghana beyond aid vision could be attained, if the citizenry works
\ndiligently towards attaining that goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

“There is the
\nneed to work hard towards achieving Ghana beyond aid, in order to make it
\nsuccessful.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor (Rev)
\nSpencer Duncan, said this when he delivered a sermon at a thanks giving service
\nwhich was held in Accra on Friday, to mark the Civil Service Week.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said civil
\nservants represented the arm of the government and added, that this made them
\ncrucial elements when it came to the successful implementation of government
\npolicies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rev. Duncan said
\nconsidering the key position that civil servants occupied in the country, it
\nwas important for them to take initiatives towards supporting the developmental
\nprograms of the government.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If you want
\nresources to come to your ministry, let your vision be clear. If you work and
\nyou are concerned, you take initiative without being told,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rev. Duncan urged
\npeople in positions of leadership to be selfless and strive to be
\nrepresentatives of the people whose concerns they were supposed to address.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said what was
\nneeded for the country’s growth was selfless leadership that did not seek
\nself-gratification, but one which was only concerned about the well-being of
\nthe people they represented.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Civil Service
\nWeek and Awards Night is being celebrated under the theme, “Improving
\nService Delivery to promote Ghana Beyond Aid.”<\/span><\/p>\n
