{"id":740477,"date":"2019-11-08T10:33:18","date_gmt":"2019-11-08T10:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/11\/08\/ndc-blows-hospital-cash-on-research\/"},"modified":"2019-11-08T10:33:18","modified_gmt":"2019-11-08T10:33:18","slug":"ndc-blows-hospital-cash-on-research","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/11\/08\/ndc-blows-hospital-cash-on-research\/","title":{"rendered":"NDC Blows Hospital Cash On Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>John Mahama<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bryan<br \/>\nAcheampong, the Minister of State in charge of National Security, has claimed<br \/>\nthat the then Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government used taxpayers\u2019<br \/>\nmoney meant for the building of hospitals for an NDC research.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.<br \/>\nAcheampong, who doubles as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament<br \/>\nfor Abetifi Kwahu in the Eastern Region, said the Mahama administration spent<br \/>\nabout $6 million that was to be used to construct hospitals at Abetifi, to<br \/>\nconduct a political survey prior to the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nsaid when the NPP government assumed office, the contracts to build some<br \/>\ndistrict hospitals had already been awarded by the Mahama government and the British<br \/>\ngovernment was funding it and Abetifi was part of it.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nsaid \u201ca portion of the funding went into things that were not related to the<br \/>\nconstruction of the hospitals.They spent the money on unrelated things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nsaid both the Ghana and British governments decided to do their own<br \/>\ninvestigations and found out that the NDC used the money for things outside the<br \/>\nconstruction of the hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nsaid the Akufo-Addo government would do its best to provide funding for the<br \/>\ncompletion of the hospital at Abetifi to serve the public.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nDistrict Chief Executive (DCE) of Kwahu East, Isaac Agyapong, on his part, said<br \/>\nthe assembly was undertaking numerous developmental projects including school<br \/>\nblocks especially in the remote communities in the district.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.<br \/>\nAgyapong said they had been able to maintain 100 km feeder roads in the area<br \/>\nand constructed a number of covert on selected roads.
