People\u2019s Pension Trust Ghana Limited has been adjudged
\nwinner in the Pensions Innovation Award of the Year Category at the 2019 Ghana
\nAccountancy and Finance Awards. <\/p>\n
The company received the recognition for successfully organizing a high-level international conference dubbed \u201cPeople\u2019s Pension Conference\u201d in February 2019.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
The event, the first of its kind since the pension reforms in 2010 brought together local and international pension players and policy makers to discuss best practices and innovative strategies required to boost Ghana\u2019s pension sector. <\/p>\n
Organised
\nunder the theme, \u201cPrivate pension fund
\nmanagement \u2013 local standards vis-\u00e0-vis international best practices. What key
\nlessons going forward?\u201d, the deliberations focused on key challenges,
\ntrends, opportunities and insights in the local pension industry blended with
\nlearnings from countries that have successfully eradicated poverty with pension
\nschemes. <\/p>\n
Speaking on the award, CEO of People\u2019s Pension Trust, Samuel Waterberg said \u201cthe recognition is evident of how relevant and impactful the conference was. The 8-point consensus that outlined issues like leveraging technology, policy interventions, deepening and enforcing regulations, pensions literacy among others is essential to the growth of the local pension industry and the adherence to international best practices.\u201d<\/p>\n
He
\nadded that he was particularly pleased about the educative and remarkable industry
\nworking visit to Netherlands, the world\u2019s leading pension industry; which
\nbecame necessary following the knowledge and expertise shared at the conference.\n<\/p>\n

\nManager of People\u2019s Pension Trust, Yaa Asamoah-Boateng on the other hand said,
\n\u201cat the heart of our values is innovation and that is why we are continuously
\nleveraging on technology to develop programs and processes that will not only
\ndrive our agenda of ensuring future income security for all, \u00a0but which will also ensure that the industry
\nevolves to keep up with changing trends and global best practices in the
\nadministration of pension in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n
The
\ncompany was also earlier this year selected as a winner by Inclusive Fintech50
\nas one of 50 fintechs that are using innovation to drive financial inclusion in
\nthe world by expanding access, usage and quality of financial services in
\nadvanced and emerging markets. <\/p>\n
People\u2019s Pension Trust provides trustee
\nservices in both Tier 2 and 3 schemes and is focused on offering flexible and
