Dr Oba Otudeko (R), Group Board Chairman, FBN Holdings PLC greeting President Akufo-Addo<\/strong><\/p>\n
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo \nhas expressed reservations about the closure of the border between neighbouring \nNigeria and Benin by the Nigerian authorities.<\/p>\n
He believes this could have a general \neffect on the progress being made by the Economic Community of West African \nStates (ECOWAS) sub regional group towards the achievement of free movement of \ngoods and services and having a single currency.<\/p>\n
This was when an eight-member \ndelegation from the First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) paid a courtesy call on him at \nthe Jubilee House in Accra yesterday.<\/p>\n
For him, developments such as the closure of the border raise serious concerns that threaten the ECOWAS project.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
He said, \u201cThere are other considerations that the entire ECOWAS has to look at and examine to find a way so we can live in this region in harmony and allow the ambitions of every country in the sub-region to be fulfilled.\u201d <\/p>\n
On his part, the Group Chairman of the \nFBN, Dr. Oba Otudeko, commended government for the successful clean-up of the \nbanking sector in Ghana and for the economic stability Ghana is currently \nenjoying. <\/p>\n
He pledged his banks commitment to \ncontinue to contribute its quota to the development of the financial sector of \nthe country.<\/p>\n
Other members of the delegation included Mrs. Ibukun Awosika Chairman, First Bank Nigeria Ltd; Mr. UK Eke, MFR, Group Managing Director; Mrs. Debola Osibogun, non-Executive Director, among others.<\/p>\n
