Mr George Andah, a Deputy Minister of Communication, has commended the<br \/>\nManagement of Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) for its effort at<br \/>\npromoting transnational education in Ghana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said considering<br \/>\nthe all-inclusive nature of the globalised world, there was mounting evidence<br \/>\nthat education was becoming more and more central in shaping the global village.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cInvariably, the<br \/>\nconcept of transnational education is a primary theme in this discourse, and I<br \/>\nam encouraged to note that the GTUC is at the forefront of this integral<br \/>\ncomponent of education as it were,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He noted that the<br \/>\nUniversity College\u2019s long-standing partnerships with institutions such as<br \/>\nCoventry University, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany, and M.S.<br \/>\nRamaiah University of Applied Sciences in India bear testament to its<br \/>\ncommitment to a globalised outlook to education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cInvariably, the<br \/>\nconcept of transnational education is a primary theme in this discourse, and I<br \/>\nam encouraged to note that the GTUC is at the forefront of this integral<br \/>\ncomponent of education as it were,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Mr Andah made these<br \/>\nremarks during the launch of GTUC-Jiangsu University Partnership Agreement in<br \/>\nAccra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">GTUC Faculty Members<br \/>\nwould benefit from fully sponsored PhD scholarships over the period of five<br \/>\nyears as a result of the partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Mr Andah said the<br \/>\ncollaboration between the Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in China<br \/>\nand GTUC signaled the beginning of another chapter in the University College\u2019s<br \/>\nstory and bearing in mind its previous track record.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He urged the PhD<br \/>\ncandidates to take full advantage of the opportunity, which could only be<br \/>\ndescribed as a golden opportunity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cAs the pioneers of<br \/>\nthis partnership, the onus is on you to set the tone and serve as trailblazers<br \/>\nfor those who will inevitably follow in your footsteps,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Professor Emmanuel<br \/>\nOhene Afoakwa, the Acting President of GTUC, said as an educational institution<br \/>\nthey were fully aware of how doctoral education had become of paramount<br \/>\nsignificance in the world where knowledge was the new \u2018fuel\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said, among other<br \/>\nthings, the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Jiangsu University of<br \/>\nScience and Technology would seek to foster developments and projects between<br \/>\nboth institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">This includes<br \/>\nFaculty and students exchange;
