Accra, Oct 18, GNA \u2013
\nThe Ghana Military Academy on Friday held a graduation ceremony for Regular
\nCareer Course Intake 59 and Short Service Commission\/Special Duty Course Intake
\n57 at the Military Academy and Training School\u2019s Parade Square at Teshie.<\/span><\/p>\n

President Nana Addo
\nDankwa Akufo-Addo, the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, who was
\nthe Reviewing Officer at the Parade, formally commissioned the 132 new
\nofficers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the 132
\nofficers, 103 were graduates of the Regular Career Course Intake 59 (Officer
\nCadets), while 29 were graduates of the Short Service Commission\/Special Duty
\nCourse Intake 57.<\/span><\/p>\n

In attendance were
\nMr Dominic Nitiwul, Minister of Defence and Lieutenant General Obed Boamah
\nAkwa, Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Others are Major
\nGeneral William Azure Ayamdo, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Seth Amoama,
\nChief of the Naval Staff and Air Vice Marshall Frank Hanso, Chief of the Air
\nStaff.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rest are Major
\nGeneral William Omane-Agykum, Commandant, Ghana Military Training School;
\nBrigadier General Solomon Tei-Mensah Osabutey, Acting Commander, Ghana Military
\nAcademy and Mr James Oppong Boanuh, the Inspector General of Police.<\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nCommander-In-Chief presented awards to outstanding graduating officers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Senior Under-Officer
\nBernard Nketiah, who was judged the best all round Officer Cadet in the Regular
\nCareer Course 59, was awarded with the Sword of Honour and the Chief of Army
\nStaff\u2019s Award, which is awarded to Army Cadets, who placed first in order of
\nmerit of the Regular Career Course 59 (Army).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief of Defence
\nStaff\u2019s award was won by Junior-Under Officer David Kofi Abuyah, which is
\nawarded to the Officer Cadet who place first in order of merit of the Short
\nCourse Commission\/Special Duty Course 57.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whiles the Academic
\nCane, which is awarded to the Officer Cadet, adjudged as the Best in Academic
\nStudies Regular Course 59, went to Edward Dapaah.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Military Cane,
\nwhich is awarded to the Officer Cadet adjudged the Best in Military Studies in
\nthe Regular Career Course 59, was awarded to Junior-Under Officer George
\nAmankwah.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief of the Air
\nStaff\u2019s Award, which is awarded to the Air Force Officer Cadet, who placed
\nfirst in the order of merit of the Regular Career Course 59 (Air Force), went
\nto CSM Peter Buerno.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief of Naval
\nStaff\u2019s Award (Sextant Award), which is awarded to the Midshipman, adjudged the
\nbest in Naval Welfare and Operations from the Regular Career Course 59 (Navy)
\nwent to Junior-Under Officer Prince Appiah Sarpong.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brigadier General
\nSolomon Tei-Mensah Osabutey, in his message to the graduating officers said:
\n\u201cThe profession of arms is dynamic. There are constant changes in the character
\nof war and threats of the 21st century. You must anticipate and embrace the
\nconstant changes in order to be successful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have equipped
\nyou with the basic knowledge and ideas and you need to build on it and grow.
\nYou need to read, learn and educate yourself to be relevant and stay on top of
\nyour chosen fields.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
