{"id":722834,"date":"2019-10-14T14:01:10","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T14:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/10\/14\/every-region-will-get-its-share-nana-assures\/"},"modified":"2019-10-14T14:01:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-14T14:01:10","slug":"every-region-will-get-its-share-nana-assures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/10\/14\/every-region-will-get-its-share-nana-assures\/","title":{"rendered":"Every Region Will Get Its Share &#8211; Nana Assures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p> <strong>President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has affirmed that there will<br \/>\nbe equitable distribution of national resources throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said his New Patriotic Party (NPP) government would not<br \/>\ndiscriminate against any area; rather, it would ensure developmental projects<br \/>\nreach every part of the country, particularly those in the deprived areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will make sure developmental projects are done in the entire<br \/>\ncountry. I\u2019m not going to discriminate with regard to the provision of<br \/>\ndevelopmental projects like what the previous government did. It provided<br \/>\nprojects based on votes but I will not do that,\u201d the President said during a<br \/>\ntour of the Eastern Region on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Free SHS Challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Addressing residents of Begoro in the Fanteakwa North District,<br \/>\nPresident Akufo-Addo admitted that there were infrastructural challenges as far<br \/>\nas the implementation of the free SHS was concerned but said the government was<br \/>\ntaking steps to resolve them.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the reason why he has decided to invest in the<br \/>\neducational sector is to get closer to the developed countries where technology,<br \/>\nsocial and economic development reign supreme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to make the area of education in this generation<br \/>\nbroad and we cannot allow money to be a barrier to access to education in our<br \/>\ntime and for that matter it is important that Ghana foster in this era through<br \/>\neducation,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>He charged those who are going to take the exams next year to do<br \/>\nwell to shame those criticizing the Free SHS policy, saying \u201cit is your<br \/>\nresponsibility to make sure that your grades and your exams are very positive<br \/>\nand very exemplary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy plea is that there are some people in this country who never<br \/>\nwanted this Free SHS. They described it as a gimmick and said it could not<br \/>\nwork. They said it was expensive. Now they are saying when they come back to<br \/>\noffice, they are going to review it. Those of you who are going to take your exams in June as the first Free SHS beneficiaries<br \/>\nhave a big responsibility to make sure that your grades and exam results are<br \/>\nvery positive and exemplary so that together we can say \u2018shame\u2019 to all of those<br \/>\nwho did not want the policy to succeed,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Police<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He said upon assumption of office, the entire Police Service had only<br \/>\n250 vehicles to fight crime but said he had provided the police with more<br \/>\naccoutrements to work with, including vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that his government intended to supply more than 1,000<br \/>\nvehicles to the police and currently about 600 had been done.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, he disclosed that the government would recruit 4,000 people into the Police Service, this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM Daniel Bampoe, Begoro<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has affirmed that there will be equitable distribution of national resources throughout the country.
