BARCLAYS BANK Ghana
\nhas indicated that its transition to Absa will provide enormous opportunities
\nfor Ghanaian youth to develop their skills and improve their employability prospects.<\/p>\n

Engaging over 600 tertiary
\nstudents on its Ready To Work (RTW) initiative, Barclays noted that Absa was
\npassionate about youth development in Ghana and was ready to develop the skills needed by the
\nyouth to maximize their potentials. <\/p>\n

The bank disclosed
\nthis at its RTW engagement sessions held at the Ghana Institute of Management
\nand Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra City College in Haatso and All Nations
\nUniversity College in Koforidua.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Barclays transitions
\nto Absa by February 2020, we are excited to deepen our commitment towards
\nsupporting the Ghanaian youth because youth development is one of the key
\ndrivers of our new Absa brand,\u201d Priscilla Yeboah, Head of Citizenship at
\nBarclays Ghana told the students.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsa has invested
\nmillions of US dollars to educate over 219,000 students across Africa,
\nincluding Ghana through scholarships and the Ready To Work programme which is a
\nfree online platform which equips students and graduates with skills needed to
\nmake a smooth transition into the job market,\u201d Mrs. Yeboah added. <\/p>\n

\nCredit at Barclays Ghana, Annie Aborah indicated that Absa would continue to
\nbuild on the over 100 years of foundation and proud heritage established in
\nGhana by Barclays. \u201cWe look forward to using our impressive footprint in Africa
\nto build a truly forward-looking African organization with global reach that is
\ncommitted to creating opportunities for the youth.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Ready To
\nWork programme which has four modules \u2013 Work, People, Money and Enterprise
\nSkills, provides graduates with the necessary skills and competencies to
\nenhance their employability competitiveness. <\/p>\n

The programme is
\nin line with the bank\u2019s citizenship strategy which aims to provide young people
\nwith skills and capabilities they need to find meaningful employment or start
