PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has tasked the leadership of
\nthe Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) to campaign vigorously and win
\nall the 47 seats in the region during the 2020 polls.<\/p>\n

According to him, even though the ruling NPP currently holds 44 of
\nthe seats in the region, he has strong conviction that the party has the
\ncapacity to sweep all the 47 parliamentary seats in the region in 2020 based on
\nthe good works his government is doing for the people.<\/p>\n

Addressing the chiefs and people of Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram
\nPlains District during the last day of his three-day tour of the Ashanti Region,
\nthe President stated that there was no way that any seat should elude the NPP
\nin its stronghold.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ashanti Region is the NPP\u2019s stronghold and currently we have 44
\nout of the 47 seats in the region and I am demanding all the 47 seats from the
\nleadership of this party during the next elections,\u201d he openly declared.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo said Sekyere Afram Plains, Asawase and Ejura Sekyeredumase
\nseats, which are currently in the hand of the opposition National Democratic
\nCongress (NDC), must fall for the NPP in 2020.<\/p>\n

According to him, his government has successfully steered the
\naffairs of state and that has brought about accelerated development in the 47
\nconstituencies in the region and so the NPP deserves all the 47 seats in 2020.<\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo said even though the time for campaign has not yet
\ncommenced, he would still entreat the people of Sekyere Afram Plains to vote
\nfor Joseph Owusu aka \u2018Odenkyem\u2019, who is the NPP\u2019s candidate for 2020.<\/p>\n

According to him, Odenkyem, who is the current District Chief
\nExecutive (DCE) for Sekyere Afram Plains, is the suitable person to lead the
\nconstituency to overcome its myriads of challenges and bring prosperity.<\/p>\n

Nana\u2019s Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Akufo-Addo during his three-day tour of the region
\ninspected ongoing roads and other projects and urged the contractors to speed
\nup work for the people to get some relief.<\/p>\n

On the first day of his tour, he inspected the lake road project,
\nthe Onwe bridge project, the removal of four roundabouts from Tech to Ejisu and
\nthe Airport Roundabout to Buokrom road in Kumasi, among others.<\/p>\n

He also visited the Suame Magazine, where he announced that a 10-kilometre
\nroad project in the industrial hub would soon be constructed to help ease the
\nmovement of people and goods.<\/p>\n

The President also commissioned a second drone centre at Mpanya in
\nthe Asante Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region, to help improve medical supplies
\nand care for the people.<\/p>\n

Also, he visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the
\nManhyia Palace, where he gave the assurance that the deplorable road networks
\nin the region would be tackled very soon.<\/p>\n

Again, the President attended Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) meeting, where he announced plans to improve security in the region, especially in the Sekyere Afram Plains area where the Fulani menace is still an issue.<\/p>\n
