Kwasi Amoako-Atta<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE MINISTER for Roads and Highways,
\nKwasi Amoako-Atta, has announced that road networks being constructed by the Akufo-Addo
\nadministration will last for at least 30 years.<\/p>\n

According to him, the government wanted \u2018value for money\u2019 road
\nprojects, for which reason it would ensure that contractors engaged would do
\n\u2018professional\u2019 work so that the roads would last longer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to construct quality road networks that will last at least
\n25 to 30 years so that future generations will also benefit from it,\u201d Mr. Amoako-Atta
\nsaid during a mini durbar of Zongo chiefs at Aboabo in Kumasi.<\/p>\n

He said gone were the days when contractors did shoddy work and
\nthe state lost a lot of money in the process, adding that his ministry would at
\nall times demand quality work from contractors.<\/p>\n

The durbar was held on Wednesday morning to welcome President
\nAkufo-Addo and his high-powered delegation who were on a three-day working tour
\nof the Ashanti Region to inspect government projects.<\/p>\n

Mr. Amoako-Atta stressed that the delay in the construction of
\nroad projects in Kumasi, including the Zongo communities, didn\u2019t mean the
\ngovernment would not construct the roads. He said all was set to construct the
\nroads.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo weeks from now, you shall see action on
\nthe road projects in Kumasi. I am standing in front of the President and what I
\nam telling you is the truth,\u201d the Roads Minister, who sounded very confident,
\nassured residents of Kumasi.<\/p>\n

He said the contractor working on the dual carriage road project
\nfrom Aboabo to Airport Roundabout, which was stalled for some time, would
\nreturn to site in two weeks\u2019 time and the people should expect quality work.<\/p>\n

Besides, he said the Airport Roundabout to Buokrom road project,
\nwhich was also stalled, would see action very soon, stressing that the
\nAkufo-Addo administration had not forgotten about the residents of Kumasi.<\/p>\n
