James Kwofie<\/strong><\/p>\n

GHANA POST says its adoption of a new vision of being commercially focused and operationally compliant has led to the doubling of its revenue within four years.<\/p>\n

James Kwofie,
\nManaging Director of Ghana Post, who disclosed this during this year\u2019s World
\nPost Day celebration in Accra, said since 2017, Ghana Post had changed the way
\nit served customers by providing convenience and expanding technology-enabled product
\nofferings.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s
\ncelebration was themed: \u201cDelivering Development\u201d in line with the
\n\u201cSustainable Development Goal 16\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said the
\ncompany had also taken advantage of the boom in e-Commerce and global financial
\nservices to grow its market share. <\/p>\n

Mr Kwofie said in
\n2019 and the years ahead, the company expected to complement its growth by
\nexpanding e-services in more post offices to attract government business,
\nfacilitation of sale of documents, forms and ticketing services.<\/p>\n

Among the
\nimprovements in technology were; the expansion of connectivity with support
\nfrom e-Transform project, expansion of operational enterprise postal system to
\nhandle customer enquiries and online track and trace solutions.<\/p>\n

Such improvements
\nin capacity, Mr. Kwofie continued, had translated into delivering quality
\ncustomer service and improved service delivery, leading to various awards
\nincluding International Best Call Center Awards for 2017 and 2018 by the
\nawarded UPU; Public Sector Campaign of the year 2018 (GhanaPostGPS); Excellence
\nin Innovation and Technology, Outstanding Contributions to the Shipping
\nIndustry 2019 by Shippers Council, among others.<\/p>\n

Ghana Post has
\nalso been pre-occupied with revenue generation activities and prudent cost
\nmanagement since 2017, according to him. <\/p>\n

The activities,
\namong others, included the alignment of operational initiatives, signing on new
\nbusinesses and models, partnering other institutions to offer customers
\nvariety.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the
\nMD said the company had also introduced flexibility in the payment of letter
\nboxes; giving customers the convenience of paying bills via mobile technology
\n(using Web, Mobile and USSD).<\/p>\n

Again, in a bid to
\nimprove access to financial services aside remittances, the company has entered
\ninto agency banking agreement with Fidelity Bank which is at the verge of
\ntaking off.<\/p>\n

Ghana Post is also
\noffering online payment solution termed GhPostpay. <\/p>\n

It has further
\nentered into agreement for the provision of Post Assurance services, bringing
\nboth life and non-life insurance services to the door step of people through
\nselected post offices, he highlighted.<\/p>\n
