{"id":720426,"date":"2019-10-10T15:24:26","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/10\/10\/sex-for-contract-scandal-rocks-ug-vc\/"},"modified":"2019-10-10T15:24:26","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T15:24:26","slug":"sex-for-contract-scandal-rocks-ug-vc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/10\/10\/sex-for-contract-scandal-rocks-ug-vc\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Sex For Contract&#8217; Scandal Rocks UG VC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Prof. Ebenezer Oduro-Owusu and Andrea Pizziconi <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An allegation of sexual harassment has been made against the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana (UG), Prof. Ebenezer Oduro-Owusu.<\/p>\n<p>CEO of Africa Integras, Andrea Pizziconi, made the allegation in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>The allegation comes as the University battles to save its image after a sex for grades scandal involving two of its senior lecturers, Prof. Ransford Edward Gyampo and Dr. Paul Butakor.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the \u2018sex for grade\u2019 investigative piece that incorporated some lecturers at the University of Ghana resonates deeply with her.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO tweetedt hat her company Africa Integras led a $64mn infrastructure investment at UG which was defaulted upon by Prof. Oduro-Owusu.<\/p>\n<p>She noted in her post \u201cI have remained mostly quiet despite the battery of attacks by Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu on my dignity. I was advised not to make waves and definitely not to raise the #metoo flag if I wanted to put the project back on track, which I do. Now I feel compelled to speak up and draw a direct line between this sex scandal and our derailed project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to her, at a UG Council meeting in August 2017, the VC suggested that the contract which was signed between herself and the past VC was invalid \u201cas it was signed under duress in a hotel room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing could have been further from the truth and in fact of all my dealings at UG and in Ghana it was this VC who made me most uncomfortable,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>She noted that Prof Oduro-Owusu declined to work with her to save the Africa Integras project on the basis that she was \u201cfar too pretty to worry my little head about the project, while declaring \u2018turn around, everyone, I want to give her a proper hug\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cMy not doing so landed me in the headlines for years with attacks against my character and credibility despite the buildings sitting on campus for anyone to inspect.
