{"id":720242,"date":"2019-10-10T11:44:47","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T11:44:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/10\/10\/ill-fix-kumasi-roads-nana\/"},"modified":"2019-10-10T11:44:47","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T11:44:47","slug":"ill-fix-kumasi-roads-nana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/10\/10\/ill-fix-kumasi-roads-nana\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019ll Fix Kumasi Roads &#8211; Nana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>President Nana Akufo-Addo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo<br \/>\nhas said all is set for the rehabilitation of deplorable roads in Kumasi and<br \/>\nother parts of the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, he was aware that the residents of Kumasi were<br \/>\nnot pleased with the terrible road networks in the city and were eager to see<br \/>\nthe roads constructed.<\/p>\n<p>The President, who gave a brief address, stated that he would make<br \/>\nsure all the bad roads were given a facelift to help in the movement of people<br \/>\nand goods.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Wednesday at a mini durbar at the Manhyia Palace in<br \/>\nKumasi on his first day of a three-day tour of the region, the President said<br \/>\nhe had not forgotten about Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know where I got my power from and I will not disappoint you. I<br \/>\nwill make sure all the Kumasi roads are fixed very soon,\u201d the President assured<br \/>\nthe Asantehene.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, all the necessary steps had been taken for works<br \/>\nto commence on the poor road networks in Kumasi so the people should be a bit patient.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meeting With Zongo Chiefs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, in an address to Zongo chiefs at Aboabo, the President<br \/>\nsaid \u201cit is action time, as everything is set for works to begin on the bad<br \/>\nroads in Kumasi soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he has good plans for the people of Kumasi and for that<br \/>\nmatter Asanteman, disclosing that there were numerous projects in the pipeline<br \/>\nfor the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Otumfuo\u2019s Address<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said he knew that the President<br \/>\nhad good intentions for Asanteman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have talked at length in secret and I know your positive plans<br \/>\nto transform Kumasi and Asanteman so I will not bore you with a lengthy<br \/>\nspeech,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He lauded the President for his good works for the country so far,<br \/>\nadding that the President was on the right track to develop the country. He<br \/>\nparticularly commended the President for leaving the comfort of his office to<br \/>\ntour the country to know the challenges facing the people so he could address<br \/>\nthem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour decision to tour Ghana and inspect projects and know how the<br \/>\npeople are feeling is a good thing and I will urge you to sustain it,\u201d the<br \/>\nAsante King stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The Otumfuo, therefore, said he would continue to support<br \/>\nPresident Akufo-Addo with prayers and wise counsel to help fulfill his good<br \/>\nintentions for Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Accompanying the President were Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Simon Osei-Mensah, Amoako Atta, Dr. Akoto Osei, Kan Dapaah, Osei Assibey-Antwi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and other top officials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM I.F.
