Junior
\nMembers of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon, also
\nknown as Vandals, have asked government to respond to their concerns regarding
\naccommodation challenges in the school or they will hit the streets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Addressing
\na press conference at the premises of the hall yesterday, 8th\u00a0October,
\nPrince Lumor, JCR President, of the hall said even though government responded
\nto a petition they sent to the Jubilee House concerning issues of accommodation
\non campus, they were expecting government to give further and concrete
\nassurances to their concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The JCR of
\nCommonwealth, on 24th<\/sup> September, petitioned the Office of the
\nPresident to intervene in the issue of accommodation deficit on the University
\ncampus. The president on 3rd<\/sup> October, through his executive secretary,
\nNana Asante Bediatuo, acknowledged receipt of the petition saying the contents
\nof the petition have\u00a0 been noted and government will get back to the
\nstudents in due time.<\/p>\n

However the
\nstudents who are not happy with the response have given government a week
\nultimatum to get back to them or face their wrath.<\/p>\n

In-Out Policy\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The
\nstudents further revealed that the University management in an attempt to solve
\nthe perennial accommodation deficit in the school is trying to implement a
\npolicy where only level 100 students shall be given accommodation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Such
\npolicy, Mr. Lumor said cannot be a very good option and have urged the school
\nmanagement to discard such idea at its \u201cembryonic stage\u201d.<\/p>\n
