Haruna Iddrisu<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Minority National Democratic
\nCongress (NDC) in Parliament has asked the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP)
\ngovernment to immediately withdraw the new curriculum meant for basic education
\nthat contains the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), since many Ghanaians
\nincluding majority of NPP members are against its implementation.<\/p>\n

The Minority also called on the
\ngovernment to immediately return the $22 million Swedish government support for
\nthe implementation of the CSE, and wash its hands completely of this \u2018satanic\u2019
\nsyllabus that would not only destroy the moral fibre of the Ghanaian society,
\nbut also would definitely encourage the wholesale practice of gayism and
\nlesbianism.<\/p>\n

Bizarre Call<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Minority\u2019s call is coming at a
\ntime when the NDC is being accused of introducing the same sexuality education
\nin the curriculum of basic schools when it was in power in 2015.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the $22 million claim
\nwhich was first made by the NDC MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa,
\nhas been rubbished by the Chairman of the Ghana Education Service (GES)
\nCouncil, Michael Nsowah.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Nsowah, the
\nprocesses towards the signing of the CSE was started by the NDC government when
\nhe (Okudzeto Ablakwa) was a deputy minister of education, and has urged him to
\nshow where the said money can be located.<\/p>\n

NDC Press Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n

At a news conference yesterday, Minority
\nLeader Haruna Iddrisu said, \u201cWe want all funds collected in addition to
\nmanuals, guidelines, teacher resource packs and curriculum to be returned
\nimmediately to the external promoters.\u201d<\/p>\n

He accused President Akufo-Addo of
\ndouble standards, pretending to be a devout Christian who has decided to build
\na national cathedral to exalt God but clandestinely accepting the practice of
\nhomosexuality in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is most shocking that a
\npresident who carries himself outwardly as a pious builder of the Lord\u2019s
\nCathedral for which he is pulling down many pre-existing structures including
\nbungalows for judges and the passport office will expose his duplicitous
\ncharacter by embarking on such terrible assaults on the morals of our children,\u201d
\nhe said.<\/p>\n

He commended all religious bodies
\nboth Christians and Muslims for being steadfast in rejecting the new
\neducational curriculum and condemning the NPP government for introducing the
\nCSE which they see as alien to the Ghanaian culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will join all well-meaning
\nGhanaians who respect and uphold our culture and religious and moral values in
\nhigh esteem to resist this CSE,\u201d Mr. Iddrisu declared.<\/p>\n

He used the occasion to debunk
\narguments in certain quarters that it was the NDC government which introduced
\nthe programme in 2015, stressing that what the NDC signed up to be included in
\nthe curriculum was \u201cAdolescent and Reproductive Health Education\u201d which was
\ncompletely different from this, and was to be taught at the junior high school
\nfor adolescents.<\/p>\n

He, therefore, called on all Ghanaians to remain vigilant, resolute and be determined to collectively resist the sinister motive of government to introduce this \u2018demonic\u2019 curriculum.<\/p>\n
