{"id":716450,"date":"2019-10-04T13:24:52","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T13:24:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/10\/04\/ags-advice-on-slain-policewoman-ready\/"},"modified":"2019-10-04T13:24:52","modified_gmt":"2019-10-04T13:24:52","slug":"ags-advice-on-slain-policewoman-ready","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/10\/04\/ags-advice-on-slain-policewoman-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"AG&#8217;s Advice On Slain Policewoman Ready"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The suspects arrived in court under heavy security<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nAttorney General\u2019s Department has presented its advice in the case in which a policewoman<br \/>\nwas killed in August by some suspected armed robbers in Tamale.<\/p>\n<p>When<br \/>\nthe case was called in Tamale yesterday, the Magistrate Court presided over by<br \/>\nAmadu Seidu revealed that the court received the AG\u2019s advice on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According<br \/>\nto him, the details of the AG\u2019s report would be made public at the next<br \/>\nadjourned date on October 10.<\/p>\n<p>Six suspects \u2014 Anas Issahaku, Zulika Abduallah, Issahaku Yakubu<br \/>\nalias Kanbon-Naa, Mahama Nashiru, Samuel Atutiga and Hanan Alhassan alias<br \/>\nGurundoo \u2014 are standing trial in connection with the<br \/>\ngruesome killing of the female police officer\u2014<br \/>\nSergeant Agatha Nana Nabin\u2014 at a checkpoint on the<br \/>\nKumbungu-Tamale road.<\/p>\n<p>They<br \/>\nhave been charged with conspiracy, murder, possession of firearms without<br \/>\nlawful authority and possession of military accoutrement.<\/p>\n<p>Some<br \/>\nrelatives and friends of the suspects who besieged the court to show solidarity<br \/>\nwere seen crying while others were shouting on top of their voices on the<br \/>\npremises of the court.<\/p>\n<p>Military<br \/>\nand police officers took over the entire court premises as people trooped in to<br \/>\nwitness the proceedings. The suspects were brought in for trial by a heavily<br \/>\narmed police team.<\/p>\n<p>At<br \/>\nthe last adjourned date, the magistrate lamented the delay in getting the<br \/>\nadvice from the AG\u2019s Department for the case to proceed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Arrests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According<br \/>\nto the prosecutor, Issahaku Yakubu was arrested at his residence at Warizeri in<br \/>\nTamale on July 31, and a search in his room revealed AK-47 and G3 live<br \/>\nammunition, spent shells and assorted military uniforms and accoutrement.<\/p>\n<p>Upon<br \/>\ninterrogation, he mentioned Anas Issahaku and led the police to his residence,<br \/>\nwhere Issahaku and Zulika Abdallah were both arrested.<\/p>\n<p>A<br \/>\nsearch in Issahaku\u2019s residence revealed two locally manufactured guns and military<br \/>\naccoutrement and when Abdallah\u2019s room was searched, they found three live AK-47<br \/>\nammunition, six G3 ammunition, two cartridges and nine pellets.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst<br \/>\nthe suspects were being escorted in a police vehicle to the police station,<br \/>\nIssahaku jumped down from the moving vehicle and was chased and rearrested<br \/>\nafter a bullet hit his right arm.<\/p>\n<p>He<br \/>\nwas rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital and he later mentioned Mahama<br \/>\nNashiru as the source of his military accoutrement, and he was also<br \/>\nsubsequently arrested.<\/p>\n<p>Upon<br \/>\nintelligence, the police arrested Samuel Atutigah and Hanan Alhassan at<br \/>\nSagnarigu and Teshigu respectively.<\/p>\n<p>During<br \/>\ninterrogation, Alhassan narrated that on August 2, he returned home from work<br \/>\nand was told that his friend (one Naami) had brought some guns to be given to<br \/>\nhim. <\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecutor, efforts were being made to arrest the said Naami who is currently at large.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM Eric Kombat, Tamale<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The suspects arrived in court under heavy security The Attorney General\u2019s Department has presented its advice in the case in which a policewoman was killed in August by some suspected armed robbers in Tamale.
