Solomon Kotey Nikoi<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the La
\nDade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LADMA), Solomon Kotey Nikoi, has called on supporters
\nof all political parties in the municipality to join hands with the view to
\npushing a common developmental agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to come together without party
\naffiliation and my door is always open to all in the municipality so that we
\ncan bring meaningful development to this area,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Nikoi \u2014 who was appointed recently following the
\nsudden death of his predecessor Gladys Maku Tsotsoo Mann-Dedey in June \u2014 made the call at a town hall meeting organised
\nby the assembly last week.<\/p>\n

He shared his vision of improving sanitation, promoting
\neducation and increasing revenue for the assembly.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cWhat I
\nbelieve is lacking now is the monitoring, so we have to form a monitoring team
\nwhich will be moving from one institution to the other to ensure that people
\nhonour their financial obligation to the assembly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon,
\nVincent Odotei Sowah, entreated residents to work at improving the life
\nexpectancy rate in the municipality by practising good sanitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cA time will come when I will call for the
\narrest of anyone who decides to make the beach a place of convenience,\u201d he cautioned.<\/p>\n

He also urged residents to take advantage of existing
\nsocial intervention programmes within the constituency, including free
\neducation from nursery to kindergarten and free Health Insurance Scheme registration
\nexercise which targets residents above 59 years, persons with disability and
\nchildren.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe intend to introduce mobile
\nhealth insurance renewal centre, job application and health dispensary kiosk
\nfor our residents,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Agriculture Director of LADMA, Emelia
\nMonney, interacted with stakeholders on the need for proactive measures to
\nfight climate change.<\/p>\n

She urged residents to be advocates of tree
\nplanting which she noted was a sustainable way of purifying the air while
\nproviding the necessary cover for the communities from harsh weather conditions
\nof the sea.<\/p>\n
