{"id":711627,"date":"2019-09-27T14:23:02","date_gmt":"2019-09-27T14:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/09\/27\/lifeline-for-ksi-bad-roads\/"},"modified":"2019-09-27T14:23:02","modified_gmt":"2019-09-27T14:23:02","slug":"lifeline-for-ksi-bad-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/09\/27\/lifeline-for-ksi-bad-roads\/","title":{"rendered":"Lifeline For K\u2019si Bad Roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>A bad road in Kumasi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOVERNMENT has taken a firm<br \/>\ndecision to quickly fix all deplorable road networks in Kumasi\u2014the Ashanti Regional capital.<\/p>\n<p>In<br \/>\nview of that, private contractors who have been awarded road contracts in the city but left site have been ordered to return and<br \/>\nresume work.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji<br \/>\nAlidu Seidu, the Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, who made the<br \/>\ndisclosure, said the Kumasi roads would be fixed soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLatest<br \/>\nby next week, all the contractors that government has contracted to work on the<br \/>\npoor roads in Kumasi have been told to return to site. This decision was taken<br \/>\nduring a crunch meeting in Kumasi on Wednesday, which I was present,\u201d Alidu<br \/>\nSeidu stated on Kumasi-based <em>Nhyira FM<\/em><br \/>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>He,<br \/>\ntherefore, appealed to residents of the city to exercise maximum restraint,<br \/>\nassuring them that all the bad roads would be tackled soon.<\/p>\n<p>Virtually,<br \/>\nall Kumasi roads had deteriorated by the time the New Patriotic Party (NPP)<br \/>\ngovernment assumed the mantle of leadership in January 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\ngovernment awarded most of the roads to contractors to fix them but the<br \/>\ncontractors left site after few months and abandoned the roads.<\/p>\n<p>Alidu<br \/>\nSeidu stated that government was aware of the problems that Kumasi residents<br \/>\nwere facing due to the deplorable roads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe<br \/>\nNPP government is a listening government, for which reason it has decided to<br \/>\nget the roads fixed completely to help ease movement in the city,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM I.F.
