Alfred George Thompson <\/strong><\/p>\n

UNCONFIRMED
\nREPORTS reaching DAILY GUIDE<\/em><\/strong> indicates that the Deputy Managing Director of
\nNational Investment Bank (NIB), Alfred George Thompson, has been relieved of
\nhis post.<\/p>\n

Even though
\nreasons for Mr Thompson\u2019s exit are yet to be released, this paper has learnt
\nthat he did not receive approval from the Bank of Ghana to continue to be at
\npost.<\/p>\n

This follows
\ncertain corporate governance regulations and requirements that the central bank
\nissued recently.<\/p>\n

Mr Thompson, at a
\npoint, claimed he was going to stand for election but later, changed his mind.<\/p>\n

Mr Thompson has
\nworked in the banking industry for the past 11 years. He started his Banking
\ncareer at the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) in the year 2000 and served
\nin various capacities such as Head of Trade Finance, International Banking
\nDepartment, Corporate and Marketing Manager of the Business and Marketing
\nCommunication Department and Corporate and Customer Relations Manager of the
\nForeign Operations Unit. He joined the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana in
\n2004 in the following roles; Profit Center Manager, Deputy Head of Foreign
\nOperations, Deputy Head of Consumer Banking and later as the Head of Corporate
\nServices.<\/p>\n

Mr Alfred George
\nThompson is a self-motivated and forward-thinking individual with vast
\nexperience in consultancy, finance administration, operations, marketing and
\ncommunication strategy- in the financial sector. He has leadership skills with
\nmanaging, developing and motivating teams to meet strategic objectives.<\/p>\n

He is a member of
\nthe Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) and an Associate member of
\nthe Chartered Institute of Administrators (CIA) Ghana. He studied at the
\nUniversity of Hull (UK) and was awarded a Diploma in Business Administration in
\n1996 and later obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from
\nthe University of Lincolnshire and Humberside (UK) in 1997.<\/p>\n
