Nene Ogah Osuagbo I<\/strong><\/p>\nTHE CHIEF of Great Ametafor in the Shai-Osudoku Traditional Area of Accra, Nene Ogah Osuagbo I, who invited government to build an Indian Hemp Industrial Plant under the One-District One-Factory (1D1F) policy in his area has rendered unqualified apology over his remarks which his people have said is unsavory.<\/p>\n
According to the chief who is in charge of
\nExternal Relations, Diplomacy and Development for the Osudoku Traditional Area,
\nhe was advocating for development for the area that would lead to the creation
\nof jobs and did not mean to ridicule his people.<\/p>\n
Nene Osuagbo I appears to be under pressure
\nfrom his subjects and the traditional council after his \u2018Wee Factory\u2019 comment.<\/p>\n
They were of the view that the chief has,
\ndescribed them as wee smokers which has consequently brought the image of the
\narea into public ridicule.<\/p>\n
He has therefore pleaded with his traditional
\ncouncil, the people of his area and Ghanaians in general to forgive him for any
\ninconvenience he might have caused them with his comment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole thing has turned into a disaster for
\nme. That is not what I meant but I wanted something legally to create job for
\nmy people and I didn\u2019t intend to malign anybody but it was taken out of
\ncontext,\u201d he said, adding \u201cI am sorry and I want my people to forgive me.\u201d<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that Nene Osuagbo I,
\nmentioned that his traditional area has fertile land for the planting and
\ncultivation of Indian hemp commonly called \u2018Wee\u2019 and want the government to
\nestablish an Indian Hemp factory and research centre for them as part of the
\n1D1F project in order to alleviate poverty.<\/p>\n
According to him, he did not mean to call the
\npeople weed smokers but was fighting for development for the area to alleviate
\npoverty.<\/p>\n
\u201cI therefore want my subjects, traditional council
\nand people to forgive me if I erred in my comment,\u201d Nene Osuagbo I pleaded.<\/p>\n
