Some of the new trucks<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nSCANIA WEST Africa, a wholly
\nowned subsidiary within the Scania Group and the only truck manufacturer with
\ndirect presence in West Africa, has launched a range of Volkswagen trucks and
\nbuses at a ceremony in Accra. <\/p>\n
The Volkswagen trucks and
\nbuses will complement Scania West
\nAfrica\u2019s existing range as well as offer customers a comprehensive fleet of
\nlight, medium to large range heavy vehicles in
\nthe West African sub-region. <\/p>\n
The ceremony saw the introduction of some
\ntrucks; VW Delivery 9.170 suitable for courier services and inner-city
\ndeliveries, the VW Constellation 15.180 which can be used for the distribution
\nof construction items such as iron rods, cement, pavement blocks, and others.
\nAlso unveiled were the Volksbus 9.150, Volksbus 10.150 and Volksbus 17.150 bus
\nranges which are most suitable for use as school buses, staff transport and
\ncommercial transport. <\/p>\n
Speaking at the launch, Fredrik Morsing, Managing
\nDirector of Scania West Africa said, \u201cWe are excited to offer our customers a
\ncomprehensive fleet of heavy vehicles in the various weight ranges. We are
\nproud of what we have achieved in the five years of our existence in the region
\nespecially with the \u201cWomen Moving the City, Women Moving Trucks\u201d initiatives,
\nas well as our partnership with developmental partners at the West African
\nTransport Academy (WATA). We are excited for the future and the opportunity to
\nserve more customers in the region.\u201d\u00a0He further reiterated that the buses
\nand trucks were manufactured by the Volkswagen Company in Brazil and are made
\nto suit our environment and roads.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr. Morsing added that, \u201cVolkswagen as the
\nmother company in Traton, offers us the unique opportunity to now bring
\nVolkswagen trucks and buses to West Africa and meet all transport needs of our
\ncustomers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Scania West Africa currently has workshops and
\ndealer network operations in West Africa, offering complete solutions in
\nvehicles and servicing, with products for construction, mining, haulage, coaches,
\nbuses and power engines. Scania also has the widest range of vehicles adapted
