A global
\nresearch and advisory firm,<\/em> <\/em>Oxford Business Group (OBG), has announced it will explore the key role that
\nGhana\u2019s new Companies Law is expected to play in enhancing the country\u2019s<\/em> <\/em>investment environment. <\/p>\n

The Report: Ghana 2020<\/em>
\nwill provide detailed coverage of the legislative overhaul and the benefits
\nthat the government hopes its bid to improve the ease of doing business and
\nintroduce best practices will bring.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Amendments that are set to be
\nanalysed include the removal of the need for companies to state their objects
\nat the time of incorporation, which will enable them to change their line of
\nbusiness without having to re-register. <\/p>\n

Other topics that OBG\u2019s report will
\nexamine include Ghana\u2019s plans to set up a new, autonomous Office of the
\nRegistrar to oversee the registration and regulation of businesses operating in
\nthe country, and the mandatory rotation requirement for the appointed auditors
\nof companies.<\/p>\n

It will also look at the raft of
\nmeasures that the government hopes will reduce waiting times for investors
\nlooking to register a company or reserve a name with the authorities.<\/p>\n

B&P
\nAssociates has signed an MoU with OBG for the forthcoming publication. Under
\nthe first-time agreement, the law firm will help to produce the Legal Framework
\nChapter of The Report: Ghana 2020<\/em> and
\nother content that will be made available across OBG\u2019s platforms.<\/p>\n

Adelaide Benneh Prempeh, founder and managing partner, B&P Associates, said \u201cthe
\nlong-awaited Companies Law represents a major milestone for Ghana as it moves
\nto boost inflows and encourage entrepreneurial activity.\u201d <\/p>\n

Welcoming B&P
\nAssociates on board, Emilie Bertincourt, OBG\u2019s country director for Ghana, agreed that these were
\nexciting times for Ghana, despite the challenges that
\nthe country faced.<\/p>\n

\u201cNews
\nthat additional measures are being introduced aimed at further enhancing
\nGhana\u2019s business climate will sit well with investors, coming on the back of
\nmacroeconomic gains and continued GDP growth,\u201d
\nshe said. <\/p>\n

The Report: Ghana 2020 <\/em>will
\nmark the
\nculmination of more than eight months of field research by a team of analysts
\nfrom Oxford Business Group. <\/em>I<\/em>t will be a
\nvital guide to the many facets of the country, including its macroeconomics,
