{"id":698982,"date":"2019-09-05T06:52:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T06:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2019\/09\/05\/wa-regional-airport-to-commence-commercial-flights-oct-15\/"},"modified":"2019-09-05T06:52:00","modified_gmt":"2019-09-05T06:52:00","slug":"wa-regional-airport-to-commence-commercial-flights-oct-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/09\/05\/wa-regional-airport-to-commence-commercial-flights-oct-15\/","title":{"rendered":"Wa Regional Airport to commence commercial flights Oct 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-io-article-url=\"https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wa-regional-airport-to-commence-commercial-flights-oct-15\/\">\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"523\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Ghanas-Wa-Airport-to-commence-commercial-operation-in-2018-696x523.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Ghanas-Wa-Airport-to-commence-commercial-operation-in-2018\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The Ministry of Aviation has announced that the Wa Regional Airport would be opened for commercial flights on October 15, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Aviation in a statement signed by the sector Minister, Mr Joseph Kofi Adda, said the first commercial flight which will be by the Africa World Airlines (AWA) is expected to further promote economic and commercial activities between the Upper West Region and the various regional capitals in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ministry of Aviation wishes to inform the general public that, as part of government\u2019s commitment to promoting seamless air travel and connectivity within the country, the Wa Regional Airport would be opened for commercial flights by Africa World Airlines (AWA) on 15th October 2019,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe commencement of commercial flight operations to the Wa Regional Airport is due to the successful testing and confirmation of the Pavement Condition Number (PCN) of the runway and other facilities that meet international standards of safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis feat has been achieved in collaboration with the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Local Airlines operating in the country.
