(Stena Unicon) \u2013 one of<br \/>\nthe world\u2019s foremost independent drilling contractors \u2013 for<br \/>\nthe Stena Forth Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU). <\/p>\n<p>Springfield will utilize the Stena Forth in late September for a drilling campaign on WCTP Block 2. The campaign will first target the Oak-1x well on trend with the Beech discovery made on the Deep Water Tano Cape Three Points block (DWT\/CTP) to the south-west of WCTP Block 2.\u00a0 The next well, Afina-1x, will test the Cenomanian oil potential on a similar play fairway to discovered resources to the east of WCTP Block 2. Springfield continues to work to firm up further drilling locations on the highly prospective WCTP Block 2.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/springfield.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-244096\"  \/><figcaption><strong>Some members of the Petroleum Commission Board, including<br \/>the chairman Sekyere Abankwah. Others include Executives of<br \/>GNPC and Management staff of the Commission<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During<br \/>\nthe signing, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Springfield Group, Kevin<br \/>\nOkyere, said: \u201cThis is a huge moment for Springfield Group and, I believe, for<br \/>\nGhana.\u00a0 Deep water drilling has never<br \/>\nbeen carried about by an independent African Energy company and we are<br \/>\nincredibly proud to be on the cusp of being the first to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChalking<br \/>\nup this milestone brings us closer to our vision of making our communities the<br \/>\nultimate beneficiaries of the resources on the continent.
