{"id":691899,"date":"2019-08-26T11:56:04","date_gmt":"2019-08-26T11:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"<br><div>\n\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"25\">President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made changes in the structure of the Executive, reorganising State departments and agencies to facilitate implementation of Big Four Agenda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"s"},"modified":"2019-08-26T11:56:04","modified_gmt":"2019-08-26T11:56:04","slug":"kenyatta-makes-changes-in-water-and-interior-ministries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/08\/26\/kenyatta-makes-changes-in-water-and-interior-ministries\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenyatta Makes Changes in Water and Interior Ministries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"25\">President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made changes in the structure of the Executive, reorganising State departments and agencies to facilitate implementation of Big Four Agenda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"19\">In the changes, the President merged State departments for Irrigation with Water and Sanitation and Interior with Citizen Services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"20\">In the changes, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang\u2019i will be charged with coordinating delivery of national priorities and flagship programmes.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/.outer-ad-container.responsive-aans-view-a-container--><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"38\">The changes contained in Executive order number six of 2019, a follow up of the one issued at the beginning of the year, gives the CS powers affecting more state corporations and day to day running of government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"1\"><strong>INTEGRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"66\">\u201cTo foster the integration of the functions of Registration of Persons and the functions of Immigration, the State Department for Interior and the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services are merged to establish the state department for interior and citizen services. The State Department for Interior &amp; Citizen Services shall be domiciled within the Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government,\u201d reads the order.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"22\">Early in the year, Mr Kenyatta appointed Dr Matiang\u2019i chairman of National Development Implementation and Communication Committee made up of all ministers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"10\">Dr Matiang\u2019i will also lead efforts of achieving national cohesion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"2\"><strong>BIG FOUR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"23\">At the same time, Irrigation department has also been curved from the Agriculture ministry to that of Water headed by Mr Simon Chelugui.<\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body-text\" data-para-word-count=\"47\">\u201cTo enhance synergy within the Water Sector, which is a key enabler for the implementation of the \u201cBig Four\u201d, the State Department for Irrigation is merged with the State Department for Water and Sanitation to establish the ministry of water &amp; sanitation and irrigation,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/.story-footer-link--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday made changes in the structure of the Executive, reorganising State departments and agencies to facilitate implementation of Big Four Agenda.
