Teach2Teach<br \/>\nInternational Cordially is working in partnership with School For Life launched<br \/>\nCommunity Volunteer Teaching (CVT) Programme to improve education delivery in<br \/>\nunderperforming primary schools in highly deprived areas in the Northern<br \/>\nRegion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The UKaid sponsored programme, which was<br \/>\nlaunched at Dalun in the Kumbungu District, would be implemented in two<br \/>\ndistricts -Kumbungu and Tolon districts, with the target of 15 deprived<br \/>\nschools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Madam Anita Lowenstein Dent, the Founder of<br \/>\nTeac2Teach International Cordially, said 45 Community Volunteer Teachers have<br \/>\nbeen recruited and would be sponsored by Teach2Teach International to attend a<br \/>\ntwo-year teaching course with University for Development Studies (UDS) and<br \/>\nBagabaga College of Education<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">She said the programme would also create a<br \/>\npathway to accessible employment through local teacher training and in-service<br \/>\nteaching opportunities for unemployed young school leavers and graduates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Madam Dent said the CVT\u2019s would be trained<br \/>\nin four key areas which include pedagogy, personal growth and development,<br \/>\ntransferable skills and capacity building and leadership and mentorship skills.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Mr Mohamed Haroun, the Northern Regional<br \/>\nDirector of Education, advised the CVT trainees to take the programme very<br \/>\nseriously to improve education delivery in underperforming primary schools in<br \/>\nthe highly deprived areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He called on other stakeholders to support<br \/>\nthe programme to enhance quality education in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Chief Andani, President of Ghana Association<br \/>\nof Bankers and the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank, expressed his<br \/>\ngratitude to the Teach2Teach International Cordially for the CVT programme to<br \/>\nimprove educational outcomes for pupils.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said the CVT programme has also created<br \/>\nemployment opportunities for the young people in the community which would<br \/>\npromote the economy of the society. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Teach2Teach International Cordially is a Non-Government<br \/>\nUK based Organization that trains young unemployed people to teach their local<br \/>\nschools and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The main responsibilities of the CVTs is<br \/>\nteaching in lower primary classes, supporting mainstream teachers to address<br \/>\nlarge class size, supporting in co-curricular activities and guiding pupils to<br \/>\nensure discipline in schools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:11.0pt;&#10;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">GNA<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Comfort Sena Fetrie, GNA Dalun (N\/R), Aug. 22, GNA &#8211;
