the<br \/>\nUS$52 million facility, which started in 2014, was financed by Euroget-De<br \/>\nInvest, an Egyptian company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Commissioning the<br \/>\nproject, President Akufo Addo acknowledged the importance of project continuity<br \/>\nas this was the reason why Ghana is an attractive destination for investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He commended<br \/>\nsuccessive governments and the contractor for their various roles in bringing<br \/>\nthe hospital project to completion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">President Akufo<br \/>\nAddo, however, expressed worry that the project which was initiated in 2008<br \/>\nwith constructional works starting in 2014 had indeed delayed and that it was<br \/>\nimportant that they work to ensure that projects were delivered within<br \/>\nschedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The President said<br \/>\nwith the right commitment and support, it was possible to have quality local<br \/>\ncontractors to deliver quality work on time for the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" Agyemeng-Manu,<br \/>\nthe Minister of Health, said the hospital was designed with several departments<br \/>\nincluding an administration, Out Patient Department, physiotherapy unit,<br \/>\nradiology laboratory, medical justice production unit, maternal and children\u2019s<br \/>\nhealth unit, mortuary, staff dining, maintenance department, power station and<br \/>\n20 staff housing unit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He said the hospital<br \/>\nwas also equipped with modern medical equipment including X-Ray machines, CT<br \/>\nScan, ultrasound and fully equipped operation theatre among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Other components, he<br \/>\nsaid, are information and communication management technology, training, and<br \/>\ninstallation of CCT cameras to enhance security at the facility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Mr Agyemang-Manu<br \/>\nsaid the biggest challenge facing the Health Ministry was the maintenance of<br \/>\nits hospital facilities, adding that medical equipment often breakdown quickly<br \/>\nafter their maintenance agreement had elapsed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">He expressed the<br \/>\nhope that the challenge would not occur as far as management of the hospital<br \/>\nwas concerned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">The Health Minister<br \/>\nappealed to the management of VRA\/NEDCO to take a critical look at the power<br \/>\nsituation at the hospital and resolve the short space power outages that was<br \/>\nbeing experienced in other hospitals to ensure effective health care delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">\u201cA lot of investment<br \/>\nhas gone into this project and we need to prevent the equipment against<br \/>\ndamages\u201d, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Tahoma&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;\">Additionally, he<br \/>\nsaid, the nurses and midwife\u2019s population ratio has equally improved in the<br
