After<br \/>\ntheir study at Oxford, AIG scholars are expected to return to their respective<br \/>\nhome countries and apply their learning experience as change agents in the<br \/>\npublic sectors of the countries.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019\/2020 AIG Scholarship<br \/>\nrecipients are Babafemi Adebola (Nigeria), Onyekachukwu Erobu (Nigeria), Nasir Mohammed<br \/>\n(Nigeria), Kwame Sarpong (Ghana) and Hakeem Onasanya (Nigeria).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very impressed with our<br \/>\nthird cohort of AIG scholars,\u201d said Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Founder and<br \/>\nChairman of AIG.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll five of them represent<br \/>\nWest Africans of great potential. Three qualities are common to all of them \u2013<br \/>\nstrong intellectual ability, leadership and a passion for public service. It<br \/>\ntakes a strong value-system to want to serve the public good and these five<br \/>\nindividuals have demonstrated a compelling desire to do so,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2016, AIG signed a<br \/>\nfive-year partnership with the Blavatnik School of Government at the University<br \/>\nof Oxford based on a shared vision of improving the world through good<br \/>\ngovernance and public leadership.\u00a0 In<br \/>\neach year of the partnership, AIG makes available five full scholarships for<br \/>\ngraduate study at the University of Oxford.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAIG scholars are selected<br \/>\nthrough a rigorous, transparent and merit-based process,\u201d said Ms Chienye Ogwo,<br \/>\nChief Executive Officer of AIG.<\/p>\n<p>Nasir Mohammed, a Mechanical<br \/>\nEngineering graduate of King\u2019s College, London and one of the recipients of the<br \/>\n2019 AIG Scholarships, said, \u201cBeing selected as an AIG scholar<br \/>\nis a vote of confidence in my latent abilities which I intend to nurture during<br \/>\nmy time at the Blavatnik School in preparation for my contribution to public<br \/>\nservice.
