REGULATORS IN the financial sector have applauded
\nConsolidated Bank Ghana (CBG)\u2019s efforts at delivering quality and strong
\nbanking services to its valued customers.<\/p>\n

At a meeting with financial institutions in Accra
\non Thursday, the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Securities and
\nExchange Commission<\/em>\u00a0(SEC<\/em>),
\nand the National Pension Regulatory Authority (NPRA) announced they were
\nstrongly in support of CBG to spur economic growth.<\/p>\n

Ernest Addison, Governor of BoG said \u201cConsolidated
\nBank was birthed on 1st<\/sup> August, 2018. At its initial stage, there
\nwere challenges and doubts but under good management the story is positive now\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy with CBG and I applaud the Management
\nand Board of CBG for the hard work done so far. We have seen significant
\nimprovements in the bank and their deposits are growing quickly\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Rev. Daniel Ogbamey Tetteh, SEC Boss, added that the
\ninstitution is ready to support CBG. <\/p>\n

\u201cThere is greater cooperation and coordination
\namong the regulators and we are determined to stand together to give the right
\nsupport CBG needs to build up and restore confidence in the financial sector.\u201d <\/p>\n

Managing Director of NPRA, Hayford Attah Krufi, commended
\nthe transparency with which CBG conducted its business. <\/p>\n

\u201cA year ago, CBG was formed to handle customers
\nof erstwhile banks. CBG has not only handled the mess but
\nwon the hearts of its customers, regulators and the general public\u201d he said. \u201cWe
\nare here to support your every move as a strong and reliable player. We at NPRA
\nstand with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

MD of CBG, Daniel Wilson Addo, assured
\nregulators, heads of financial institutions and customers that CBG was focused on
\ncarrying out its mandate to ensure depositors\u2019 funds were protected while building
\nan institution that would play a significant role in the Ghanaian business arena.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were faced with the task of validating all
\naccounts and their balances after which CBG could confidently pay out; we are
\nwell grounded in solid governance and prudent risk management within BoG and
\ninternational standards. We have tailor-made products, the right and
\nexperienced human resource on our team to deliver nothing short of your
\nexpectations and even beyond\u201d Mr. Addo added. <\/p>\n

The meeting ended in the cool of the airport breeze as stakeholders engaged further in business discussions and partnership.<\/p>\n
