Samuel Sarpong, NIB MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Managing
\nDirector (MD) of the National Investment Bank (NIB) Mr. Samuel Sarpong is
\nconfident the bank will soon experience a rebound in its operations and take an
\nenviable place in the banking industry.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sarpong
\nsaid this at durbars held recently across the bank aimed at boosting staff
\nmorale towards the attainment of the bank\u2019s transformational agenda. <\/p>\n

The MD noted
\nthat it was crucial for both management and staff of the bank to be well
\ninformed about the current position of the bank to help them appreciate the
\ntask ahead. The highly experienced banker who spearheaded the re-positioning of
\nGCB Bank is poised to replicate that feat at NIB following his recent
\nappointment.<\/p>\n

According to
\nhim, NIB possesses the needed structures and competencies for growth. He, however,
\nadded that \u201cfor the bank to attain its vision, all aspects of the business will
\nhave to be realigned. These include the restoration of tenets of good corporate
\ngovernance and improved financial performance backed by a strong financial
\nreporting integrity, as well as products and services enhancement and digital banking
\nofferings.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his vision
\nfor the bank, Mr. Sarpong said, \u201cI see a well managed, modern and highly
\nprofitable Ghanaian-owned bank offering solutions that help businesses grow,
\nand supporting Ghana\u2019s industrialization agenda. Only a profitable NIB would
\ngive us the clout to employ a lot more staff, and the ability to facilitate
\ngrowth and sustenance of other businesses. A highly profitable NIB would also
\nput us in a position to embark on highly effective corporate social responsibility
\ninitiatives like building schools, boreholes, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that \u201ca good and strong leadership, coupled with strict adherence to corporate governance practices, and a strong desire to meet all Bank of Ghana as well as international regulations and deploying state-of-the-art banking solutions, are some of the key measures that will be taken to bring about the desired reinvigoration at NIB.\u201d<\/p>\n
