We would like to pledge our wholehearted support and be an ally with <strong>Citi FM\/Citi TV<\/strong> in this war against indiscipline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you for your commitment to such an important cause. We look forward to a fruitful relationship with you that ultimately awakens citizens to responsible action and compels our leaders and institutions to do what they are mandated to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The War Against Indiscipline was started by Citi TV in May 2019. It has received massive support from the Ghana Police service.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign is to avert the increasing loss of lives through road carnage due to recklessness and general disregard for traffic regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign is to draw attention to the nuisance caused by drivers and motorbike riders on Ghana\u2019s roads.<\/p>\n<p>The general public has been encouraged to take videos and photos of persons who engage in these offences and send them to the official station\u2019s WhatsApp contact \u2013 <strong>0549986996\u00a0<\/strong>for onward forwarding to the appropriate quarters.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Police chase MP for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency for traffic offence\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OkrapEVwXgM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fines generated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Government has been able to rake in over GHc 100,000 from Citi TV\u2018s War Against Indiscipline (WAI) Campaign since the launch in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign, with the police service, has seen a lot of drivers arrested and put before court for various traffic offences on various stretches in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The errant drivers have been slapped with fines ranging from GHc600 to GHc1,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>#WAI campaign to continue into 2020<\/strong><br \/>Citi TV\u2019s campaign to address the incident of indiscipline on Ghana\u2019s roads will not be stopped any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to the station\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #666699;\"><strong>Samuel Atta-Mensah<\/strong><\/span> who is confident that the collaboration with the police on the campaign will help to restore sanity on the roads.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-529196\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanamma.com\/2019\/07\/revenue-from-wai-862x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"862\" height=\"1024\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Citi TV<\/strong>\u2019s<strong> The Point of View<\/strong> on Monday, Samuel Atta-Mensah said despite the many challenges especially resource constraints that may affect the campaign, Citi TV will ensure that the adequate resources are provided for the police to enable them to undertake their lawful duty particularly in stopping indiscipline of road users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we keep scaling up this operation, we are likely to hit a certain impediment which is the resource question. The police lack certain resources.
