This combined offer will enable farmers to<br \/>\nmove beyond subsistence farming.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe projected outcome for the 2019 project is<br \/>\nto increase farm yield from 20% to 40% of the 70,000 farmers reached. The<br \/>\nproject is expected to include 30-40% of women as well as 20-30% of young<br \/>\nfarmers,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Crops, Mr. Seth Osei-Akoto, said he<br \/>\nwas very excited that this OCP Africa programme is aligned with the government\u2019s<br \/>\nPlanting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) programme to empower farmers with knowledge<br \/>\nand skills to maximize the benefits of the usage of the subsidized planting<br \/>\nmaterials and other inputs.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Director of Crops, like the<br \/>\nAgribooster Offer, the PFJ would also improve the marketability of the<br \/>\nincreased production of food crops by establishing strong linkage between<br \/>\nproducers, private aggregators, public food programmes and private food and<br \/>\nfeed enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>He thanked OCP Africa for this unique<br \/>\ninitiative and encouraged all farmers to embrace this offer and enhance their<br \/>\nknowledge and skills to increase their yield, revenue and improve their<br \/>\nwell-being.<\/p>\n<p>OCP Africa first launched the \u2018Agribooster Offer\u2019<br \/>\nin 2018, reaching ten thousand (10,000) maize and rice farmers in Volta,<br \/>\nNorthern and Upper West regions. A 30-40% yield increase has been achieved for<br \/>\nthis first edition. <\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Agribooster Offer\u2019 is an innovative<br \/>\nfarmer-centered market development model that brings together different<br \/>\nstakeholders of the agriculture value chain to provide the best conditions<br \/>\nallowing farmers to increase their yield, incomes and livelihood.<\/p>\n<p>The 2019 edition of Agribooster will be<br \/>\nimplemented in coordination with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in the Upper<br \/>\nWest, Upper East, North East, Bono East and Bono regions, aiming to reach<br \/>\n70,000 smallholder farmers cultivating maize, rice and soybeans. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Samuel Oduro-Asare, MD, OCP Africa OCP AFRICA, a subsidiary of the OCP Group, a leading global producer of phosphate and its derivatives, with almost 100 years of experience, has re-launched its \u2018Agribooster Offer\u2019 at Nasia in the North East Region.
