{"id":656876,"date":"2019-07-15T12:20:02","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T12:20:02","guid":{"rendered":" <br><div>\n\t\t\n<p><strong>Alhassan Tampuli \u2013 NPA Boss<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National\nPetroleum Authority (NPA) has said it will soon begin piloting the Cylinder\nRecirculation Model (CRM) in Obuasi and at Kwaebibirem in the Ashanti and\nEastern regions resp"},"modified":"2019-07-15T12:20:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T12:20:02","slug":"npa-to-pilot-crm-in-obuasi-kwaebibirem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2019\/07\/15\/npa-to-pilot-crm-in-obuasi-kwaebibirem\/","title":{"rendered":"NPA To Pilot CRM In Obuasi, Kwaebibirem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Alhassan Tampuli \u2013 NPA Boss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National<br \/>\nPetroleum Authority (NPA) has said it will soon begin piloting the Cylinder<br \/>\nRecirculation Model (CRM) in Obuasi and at Kwaebibirem in the Ashanti and<br \/>\nEastern regions respectively.<\/p>\n<p>It said these<br \/>\ntwo towns were selected as a result of good control and traceability of<br \/>\ncylinders, active refilling outlets with consistent LPG sales over the past six<br \/>\nmonths and multiplicity of LPG Marketing Companies (LPGMCs).<\/p>\n<p>The Chief<br \/>\nExecutive Officer of NPA, Hassan Tampuli, disclosed this at CRM stakeholder engagement<br \/>\nheld in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The event<br \/>\nwas part of the NPA\u2019s nationwide exercise to engage members of the public on<br \/>\nthe policy, their contributions or feedback and how, together, the policy can<br \/>\nbe rolled out to address the needs of the consumer. In attendance were Ashanti<br \/>\nqueen mothers, police wives association, army wives association, fire service<br \/>\nwives association, caterers association, LPG marketers and dealers, among<br \/>\nothers.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Tampuli<br \/>\nsaid funding had been secured by the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company to<br \/>\nproduce the 37,000 cylinders needed for the pilot exercise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCylinders<br \/>\nproduced now will be based on the accepted Ghana Standard Authority\u2019s standard<br \/>\nfor imports or domestic production,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Touching on<br \/>\nrisk assessment of LPG facilities, the NPA Chief Executive said it would<br \/>\nstretch the exercise to cover about 66 senior high schools across the country. <\/p>\n<p>Mr Tampuli<br \/>\nexplained that the move formed part of the ongoing process of implementing the CRM<br \/>\npolicy which is aimed at providing direction for marketing and distribution of<br \/>\nLPG in a safe and efficient manner, and to facilitate an increase in access to<br \/>\nLPG nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the<br \/>\nthings earmarked for implementation of the CRM include risk assessment of LPG<br \/>\nfacilities in 66 second-cycle schools in the country, compliance monitoring of<br \/>\nall assessed LPG refilling outlets, second-cycle school facilities and selected<br \/>\nfacilities (TOR, TFC, GNGC, Quantum terminal and Tema Oil Jetty) in the value<br \/>\nchain,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at<br \/>\nthe event, Simon Osei-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, urged the public to<br \/>\nsupport the cylinder recirculation project.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned<br \/>\nthat many fire outbreaks could have been avoided if regular checks had been<br \/>\ndone by refilling agents at gas stations.<\/p>\n<p>The minister,<br \/>\ntherefore, encouraged NPA to intensify the implementation process of the CRM to<br \/>\nenable all homes in Kumasi to have leak-free cylinders.<\/p>\n<p>Chairing the<br \/>\noccasion, Nana Adu Mensah, Chief of Amakom, who represented the Asantehene<br \/>\ncommended NPA for the project.<\/p>\n<p>He said<br \/>\nquality cylinders had the potential to reduce the incidences of fire.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alhassan Tampuli \u2013 NPA Boss The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has said it will soon begin piloting the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM) in Obuasi and at Kwaebibirem in the Ashanti and Eastern regions respectively.
