A business owner takes advantage of the Vodafone Cash to accept payments<\/strong><\/p>\n

VODAFONE GHANA over the weekend organised a \u201cCashless Bazaar\u201d grand sales event in Accra to promote a cashless system of payment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bazaar, which had over 200 small and medium-sized enterprises and hundreds of customers in attendance, was aimed at giving customers and businesses an assurance that they could trade in a cashless manner at their convenience and safety.<\/p>\n

Businesses exhibited products such as clothing, jewelries,
\ncosmetics, food, materials for internal deco, baby skin and hair care products
\nand services such as hairstyling and massaging therapy.<\/p>\n

Director of Vodafone Cash Martison Obeng-Agyei said Ghana was moving towards a cashless society.\u00a0He said Vodafone mobile financial services had enhanced the Vodafone Cash to make the vision achievable.<\/p>\n

He said the purpose was to convince the populace to understand the
\nneed to move into a cashless society for them to accept the electronic payment
\nas a legal tender.<\/p>\n

He said when the loop was closed, the money spent by government to
\nprint paper money and distribute it, coupled with insecurity problems, would be
\nreduced.<\/p>\n

Mr. Obeng-Agyei added, \u201cThe vendors after sales could stand here and
\nmove their cash straight into their bank accounts. No one here is guarding a
\nwallet or pot of money. Everybody\u2019s transaction is happening on his or her
\nphone and the phone is secured with them. If they lose their sim cards, they
\ncan have them replaced and still have the monies back on their phones.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the promotion of a digitized and cashless system, he disclosed that
\nVodafone had partnered with DSTV to make payment systems easy for customers as
\nwell as a food delivery services company called \u2018Homechow\u2019 to deliver foods to
\nthe citizenry in the comfort of their homes whenever they placed an order.<\/p>\n

Among the businesses that exhibited their products at the bazaar were Spectacular Opticals, Casa Nasari Clothing, Blush Cosmetics, Walking Pretty Heads and Accessories, kingo Fabrics, A-G Couture Clothing and Jewelry, Carine Shop Underwear made by Nanayaa Hair Wig Collections, Gee AAY Beads Collectibles, regal impressions wallpapers, and sights and shades spectacles.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
