The Vehicle and Asset Dealers Association of Ghana
\n(VADAG) have withdrawn their decision to partake in the planned \u201cKum Yen Preko\u201d
\ndemo scheduled for July 9, 2019 to protest government\u2019s luxurious vehicle tax.<\/p>\n

The Vehicle and Asset Dealers Association of Ghana (VADAG) despite government assurance to review the Luxury Vehicle Tax (LVT) law during the mid-year budget decided to go ahead with the demonstration.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, in a statement signed by the President,
\nEric Kweku Boateng, it said \u201cUpon careful consideration and amicable engagement
\nwith government, VADAG has rescinded an earlier decision to stage series of
\nprotest against the much-talked about and controversial luxury vehicle tax.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision was agreed upon by sub-associations including the True Drivers Association, Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), Ghana Committed Drivers Association and Hon Jacob Osei Yeboah. (Joy 2020).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, they added \u201cVADAG will entreat all members to proceed on normal work activities as deliberations with the government still continue.<\/p>\n
