THE 9TH<\/sup>
\nAnnual Pre-Harvest Agribusiness Exhibitions and Conference, scheduled for
\nSeptember 25-27, 2019, at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, is expected
\nto bring together about 3,000 farmers, agribusinesses and value chain actors.<\/p>\n

They will
\nshare ideas and discuss measures to be put in place to ensure a more structured
\nand sustained market access and linkages are built for farmers and agribusinesses
\nduring the season.<\/p>\n

Organizers
\nof the three-day event, themed: \u201cMarket
\nAccess: what is the structured and sustainable pathway?\u201d,\u00a0 said the forum would equally place more
\nemphasis on training actors through practical sessions, field demonstrations
\nand open dialogue, while showcasing and promoting business and networking
\nopportunities through the exhibitions that would be running alongside. <\/p>\n

Topics and
\nthematic areas to be explored during the period would include market linkages, commodity
\npricing, favourable agricultural policies, financing, seed quality systems,
\nbest practices in agricultural production, nutrition, climate-smart
\nagricultural practices and approaches, systems and structures.<\/p>\n

Besides, there
\nwould be focused training and capacity building sessions on donor
\ninterventional projects, impact on gender equality & women empowerment, agricultural
\ntechnology and innovations, among other topics. These topics were carefully
\nselected based on the feedback from the 2018 event survey, the statement added.\n<\/p>\n

Dr. Abdel
\nMajeed, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority, an
\norganizing partner, said, \u201cThe annual Pre-Harvest Agribusiness Exhibition &
\nConference, a major interventional and a leading event on the Ghanaian agricultural
\ncalendar, has over the years served as stimulating platform for training,
\nmatch-making, agribusiness development, increased stakeholder linkages and
\nexpanded opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s
\nevent attracted a total of 3,122 participants including farmers, farmer groups,
\naggregators, processors, buyers, transporters, input dealers, civil society,
\ngovernment ministries and agencies. Of these were recorded 144 companies
\nexhibiting during the programme. <\/p>\n

Sponsors of the event include Yara Ghana, John Deere, Kosmos Energy, Interplast, RMG, Dizengoff, Hatuom Trading, Mel Consulting Limited, LK International and Dizengoff Ghana. <\/p>\n
